Founded in 1983, the West Coast Singers is the third oldest Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Straight Ally, mixed chorus in the nation. In that more difficult time, the original intent was to provide a safe place for Gay men and Lesbians to come together and sing. Now, in our 35th year, our membership and musicianship have both grown. With more than 80 active singers, we believe that the West Coast Singers is one of the premier LGBTQ choruses in the world, offering the rich, full-bodied sound that can only come from a mixed chorus of voices.
Diverse voices uniting to inspire positive change. In this vision statement, it perfectly describes who we are, the LGBTQ+ Chorus of Los Angeles.
With a broader definition made clear in our mission statement: Our quality musicianship, engaging choral performances, and inclusive environment unite LGBTQ and Ally singers to celebrate diversity, inspire equality, and build a community of acceptance.
As a community chorus, we seek to embrace the wide diversity of experience from all walks of life in Los Angeles. Members of West Coast Singers are gay and straight, young and old, and from various countries, cultures and histories who have joined together because of a shared love of singing and choral music. In the process, we demonstrate a positive example of diverse elements working together in harmony. In addition, we seek to educate and facilitate mutual respect between the LGBTQ community and the community at large. We also strive to be an active and giving member of our community...performing for many social and charitable organizations.
As a community chorus, we sing to our fullest potential, making the best music that can be made. Our membership is comprised of singers with a wide range of skill levels. Some are professional musicians, while others sing simply for the joy and camaraderie that comes from being with others who are also inspired by music. The result is a group that has created choral performances of the highest possible caliber.

In 1984, Dr. Monte Atkinson organized the Western Colorado Chorale, a group of approximately 40 singers. The Chorale's mission was to perform choral repertoire of the highest quality in the Grand Valley community. Our passion for this mission is what drives us today.
The Chorale has performed such masterworks as Bach's B minor Mass, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, Durufle's Requiem, and Haydn's Creation, among many others. The Chorale's concerts also highlight more modern literature and explore hidden gems of choral music in their Fall and Holiday concerts. Members of the Chorale have also traveled to sing in Carnegie Hall several times.
The Western Colorado Chorale is a complementary organization to the Grand Junction Musical Arts Association and co-sponsored by Colorado Mesa University. It is managed by a Board of Directors.
A funny thing happened to the Western Continentals on their way to the 1968 International championship. In 1965, only a year after they first got together, Dr. Curt Kimball, Ted Bradshaw, Paul Graham and Terry Diedrich placed eighth in the International competition.v
Then Curt, the tenor, was called to service in Vietnam and was replaced by Al Mau. They dropped to 21st in '66. They went to Los Angeles in '67, not only with Al but with a new bass, Phil Foote, replacing Terry. They won the silver medals. The next year, in Cincinnati, they captured the gold.
The purpose of the Western Reserve Chorale is to harmoniously advance the joy of music in Northeast Ohio by providing free public concerts and an engaging opportunity for members to experience the challenge and camaraderie brought through rehearsing and performing a wide variety of choral works.
Since 1969, the internationally acclaimed vocal sextet, The Western Wind, has devoted itself to the special beauty and variety of a cappella music. The Ensemble's repertoire reveals its diverse background - from Renaissance motets to Fifties rock 'n' roll, from medieval carols to Duke Ellington, from complex works by avant-garde composers to the simplest folk melodies.
In addition to maintaining a demanding performance schedule, which has included such venues as Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, ArtPark, The Ordway Theater, The Metropolitan Museum, The Frick Museum, The Jewish Museum, Folger Shakespeare Library, Library of Congress, and the Cleveland Museum of Art, The Western Wind regularly conducts Workshops in Ensemble Singing. The workshops, attended by vocalists ranging from novice to professional, address the particular challenges of singing in small, largely un-conducted ensembles.
Since its founding in 1983, the chorus has transcended the bounds of a community chorus by performing diverse and challenging music from sacred to secular, classical to contemporary. Past performances include works by Bach, Brahms, Faure Requiem, Ralph Vaughn Williams, Samuel Barber, Randall Thompson, Aaron Copland, Eric Whitacre, and music from Broadway. Performances are often accompanied by small orchestra ensembles - or even Flamenco dancers!
The Chorus has performed with a full orchestra, a swing band, a Bluegrass band and eclectic groups such as Urban Myth. The season may also include a Pops concert complete with cabaret-style seating. The Westford Chorus also brings music to the residents in area nursing homes and participates in community singing events.
Setting the standard for choral excellence for 90 years, the Westminster Choir is composed of students at Westminster Choir College, a division of Rider University's Westminster College of the Arts, in Princeton, N.J. The ensemble's 2010-2011 season includes a concert tour of Florida, performances at its home in Princeton, a broadcast of Westminster's annual An Evening of Readings and Carols holiday concert and its annual residency at the Spoleto Festival USA.
Its second recording with Maestro Miller, Noel, was released in September. A collection of French Christmas music and sacred works, the recording also features Westminster alumna Jennifer Larmore, the most recorded mezzo-soprano of our era, and organist Ken Cowan, a member of Westminster's faculty. The recording is also the centerpiece of the PRI Radio broadcast Noel - A Christmas from Paris, hosted by Bill McGlaughlin.

The Westside Singers have been performing in Portland and beyond for over 70 years. Originally begun in 1945, the all-male chorus was known as the Forest Grove Gleemen. When women joined the chorus in the 1960s, the Forest Grove Gleemen became the Forest Grove Gleemen and Girls. As time passed, the chorus grew in size, drawing singers throughout Washington and Oregon. The focus changed to singing jazz standards and show tunes, and the name changed one more time to the Westside Singers.
Today Westside Singers is a jazz chorus of 30 singers, ranging in age from early thirties to the 70's. We boast three members with over 40 years experience with the Westside Singers.
The Westside Singers have performed at all kinds of local venues, including civic clubs, retirement homes, and private parties. We had the honor of singing the National Anthem at PGE Park and Memorial Coliseum. Internationally, the Westside Singers conducted a tour of Europe in the 1970s and held a command performance for Princess Grace of Monaco. The Westside Singers had the privilege of performing at the 1986 World's Fair in Vancouver, B.C.
One constant throughout the 60+ year history of Westside Singers and that is providing toe-tapping, finger-snapping, hand-holding musical entertainment throughout the Portland metropolitan area and beyond.

Wheelhouse officially formed in January 2002 and consist of four die-hard barbershoppers. Yes, these are the men you've seen wandering aimlessly about, in search of three other willing souls to help ring just one precious barbershop chord. We are the "tag hogs", "lobby rats", and "chord worshippers" your parents warned you about. One thing is for sure, and that's our love and dedication to creating the most beautiful, vocal music possible.
Every year, 14 senior Yale men are selected to be in the Whiffenpoofs, the world's oldest and best-known collegiate a cappella group. Founded in 1909, the "Whiffs" began as a senior quartet that met for weekly concerts at Mory's Temple Bar, the famous Yale tavern. Today, the group has become one of Yale's most celebrated traditions.
More than 100 years ago, on a frosty January night in New Haven, Connecticut, five of the Yale Glee Club's best singers convened at Mory's Temple Bar to escape the cold. Louis Linder, the tavern's barkeep and a music aficionado, welcomed them in, beginning an institution that survives to this day.
Of those original five singers, four were members of the Glee Club's prestigious Varsity Quartet, a group that sang together regularly at various alumni events. Unwilling to restrict themselves to performances at public functions, the group began to meet on a weekly basis at Mory's, where they improvised harmonies to the songs they loved so well. These weekly meetings soon became a hallowed tradition amongst the singers.
White River Sound is a chorus of women full of warmth and congeniality, joining together to present wonderful music. We join our voices weekly in rehearsals, and offer our harmony to the community at special events or by invitation. Our style of a capella singing remains dedicated to the American Art of Barbershop Harmony. This unique art of singing style, chord structure, and strict blend of voices gives a heartwarming and pleasing ring of chords and a moving communication of music. We work diligently to perfect the elements of the style, add interest and expression to the performance, all the while making a fun and enjoyable atmosphere for our members. We surround each other with music and love, always striving to project those emotions to our audience.
The White Rose Chorus is the York, PA chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. The chapter was founded in 1945 as the York Chapter, SPEBSQSA, Inc. and is one of over 750 chapters in North America.

We have performed festivals including Wingstock and Christmas Magic, appeared on the Culture and Main television show, and sang the National Anthem for the York Revolution from 2013 to 2018. We compete in the Central Division of the Mid-Atlantic District in regional contests against other chapters. The Chorus won the "Most Improved Chorus" Award in 2018 and advanced to the "AA" plateau for the first time. The plateau system was established in 2006.
"Who's Your Daddy!": A Playlist For Today's Rock & Roll Fathers
For better or worse, we've come a long way from the days when rock & roll was an entirely pure form of generational rebellion. Even in my lifetime, I've seen fathers go from older dudes who yelled, "Turn that racket down!" to roving bands of aging dads in jeans and t-shirts who are more likely to ask the kids if they can sit in and jam with their emo bands. Where I live, when a dad tells you that he's taking his kid hunting, he generally means record hunting at Amoeba Music.
In the early months of 1978, the Wichita Chamber Chorale was founded by Philip Coleman, Michael Pohlenz, Nolen Pridemore and Howard Webb, who had studied music education together and been members of the Singing Quakers at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas. Dr Pohlenz and his friends envisioned an auditioned community choir for adult singers in south central Kansas, and later that spring the Wichita Chamber Chorale presented their premiere concert with an ensemble of 30 of the region's best singers. Dr Pohlenz conducted and Dr John Leavitt accompanied the Chorale before a large and appreciative audience at East Heights United Methodist Church on April 23, 1978.

"Choral music is a perfect example that something can equal more than the sum of its parts. By working together, we can do amazing things. In a time of divided ideologies, global uncertainty, and in a place like Chicago where entire neighborhoods can be overcome by violence and hopelessness, what better antidote than choral music to bring people together and make them a bit happier?" - Mark Tomasino, Founder & Artistic Director

The Wilmington Children's Chorus name has become synonymous with excellence: excellence in singing, excellence in performance, and excellence in education. A multi-cultural children's choir, WCC gives youth the opportunity and tools to excel while enriching the community with the unique sound and spirit of children's voices. WCC involves over 300 singers, ages 5-18, in five different performing ensembles and three Neighborhood Choirs in collaboration with OperaDelaware. Since 2002, WCC has provided this high-quality educational program for youth without the burden of tuition or membership fees.
The Wilmington Community Chorus is a place where people from all walks of life can come together and sing and make music together. It's a new type of chorus that is open to every singer - no matter where they are in their singing career. For those singers who have much experience reading music and singing, they'll be incredibly helpful guiding the way for younger and less experienced singers.
For those just starting out, all vocal parts will be pre-recorded and put online so that parts may be learned in advance of rehearsals and you'll be taught how to "read along" in an intuitive way. ALL singers are welcome in our chorus. (Please note, however, this is an adult chorus, with some exceptions made for older high school singers.)
Our repertoire will differ than most. While we certainly want to perform and honor traditional choral music, we'll also show that the human voice is capable of creating dynamic and intriguing and thought-provoking music. This will include acappella pieces, jazz, contemporary music, cabaret pieces and more. Music and shows that are vocally fantastic and unique and draw the audience back and wanting more!
Our goal is to present three concerts per year: one holiday concert, one spring concert, and one "cabaret" style performance where members can perform some of their favorite tunes in costume and with choreography. We'd also like to utilitze the town local TV channel and engage the town community as often as possible.
We want show the vast amount of talent that Wilmingon has to offer and to show that music has a place in our community. It brings joy, helps us celebrate our triumphs and troubles, tells our stories, and brings us all together as one - as a community. Our chorus will help, heal, and spread hope and happiness in our community.
