The High Desert Harmoneers Chorus was chartered in 1991 by a group of men who enjoy singing a cappella harmony primarily in the barbershop style. Although few of the charter members are still with us, we have members with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Some of us are "home grown" and some have moved to Central Oregon having been longtime members of other chapters. We also have members with little or no experience who visited, liked what they saw, and signed up. We are a group of congenial personalities who all have one thing in common: The love of singing.
High Desert Harmony Chorus (HDH), a non-profit, volunteer-run, women's community chorus, chartered with Sweet Adelines International (SAI) in 2004 and has continued to support the mission of fostering the enjoyment of four-part a cappella harmony, guided by Sweet Adelines's mission statement of "elevating women singers worldwide through education, performance, and competition in barbershop harmony and a cappella music." Through their passion for music, HDH provides women of all ages and abilities with a high level of vocal music education and empowers and supports members to be the best they can be. SAI's vision is to support women that are inspiring and empowering voices to joyfully harmonize the world and, in a world where communities are so easily divided, it is refreshing to be part of a group that aims to unite through music. We empower and uplift women of all ages and abilities and spread the joy of music throughout our community.

We are a fraternity of Barbershoppers! And what is Barbershop? Simply put, it is men's four-part vocal harmony; an original American art form that continues to be vibrant today! According to the Barbershop Harmony Society, "It is music in a very pure form created with nothing but the human voices coming together to create a rich and satisfying texture that is pleasing to the ears and invigorating to the soul".
The High Mountain Chordsmen is the men's chorus of the Prescott chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. The Barbershop Harmony Society was founded in 1938 and has grown to include 23,000 members in nearly 800 chapters and 17 Districts in the U.S. and Canada, plus affiliates worldwide.
We are dedicated to learning, teaching, enjoying and performing the unique American art form of men's four part harmony in the Barbershop style. We have been entertaining the people of the Tri-City Area for over 35 years. We have performed at many venues, such as the Yavapai College Performing Arts Center , the historic Elk's Opera House , the Sharlot Hall Museum , and the Prescott Resort . Every year our quartets deliver Singing Valentines to many appreciative (and surprised) lovers!
We have a strong commitment to youth, so in 2009 and 2010 we hosted and joined in with the "Real Men Sing" choral festival at Mile High Middle School. The all day event, in collaboration with local educators, was aimed at young men in local schools, for them to experience the joy of singing and encourage them to join their school choruses. It began in the morning with harmony workshops and concluded with an evening public performance by nearly 100 males singers, ranging in age from 10 to 82!
During December the chapter presents holiday music throughout the Prescott and Prescott Valley areas. We have performed at Acker Night, in local Christmas parades, at Hertitage Park Zoo, and at most senior and assisted living facilities throughout the area. Our schedule for the 2012 Holiday season included 21 performances!
The four original members of High Society were also members of the 1975 International Champion San Diego Chorus. They began singing together at a coffee shop after a chorus function. Several hours later they agreed they had something special and that all four wanted to be quartet champions.
Bette was choreographer for the San Diego Chorus and, after winning the quartet championship, began directing the Escondido Chorus. Kim was a relative newcomer to Sweet Adelines. She had met Pat in a carpool, where they sang with the radio. Pat was unable to convince Kim to join Sweet Adelines but Kim's mother finally persuaded her. Sandy served as the costume chair for San Diego Chorus. Pat served as assistant director for San Diego as well as director for Singing Hills Chorus. She was a choreographer coach and designed the quartet costumes and hairdos.

Hinesburg Artist Series was created because its founder, Rufus Patrick, wanted to provide a performance venue for one of his talented ex-students from Burlington High School, Guillaine Senecal. The first HAS concert was held on March 16, 1997 at the United Church of Hinesburg with a 40-voice chorus and a 12-piece orchestra where they performed Rutter's Requiem.
With enthusiastic support from the community, the Series continued to develop and grow to encompass the South County Chorus, the Hinesburg Community Band, In Accord a cappella singers and the ad hoc HAS orchestras.

A cappella. It's technically what we do. But we're not your bow-tie barbershop quartet. We're a vocal band. Which means we do more than sing - we perform - engaging audiences in a rich blend of harmonies while entertaining them.

Honey Whiskey Trio blends sounds and styles from folk, bluegrass and jazz. This trio found its roots in the vocal jazz department of CSU Long Beach where the members all studied with Christine Guter, though at different times. Years later, well into their own careers as musicians and educators, the need for a new outlet for musical exploration brought Courtney, Ann and Christina together and the Honey Whiskey Trio was formed.
Prior to the Honeybee Trio, its three young singers - Karli, Natalie, and Sarahohad heard each other sing at various school talent shows. In October, 2008, the three were asked to work together as a trio for a special performance at a local retirement community. Though there were originally no plans beyond that one performance, it was clear that their combined talents produced something very special. Through serendipity, the Honeybee Trio was born. Two years later, they are going strong and thrilling audiences wherever they go. The girls have had many wonderful opportunities to perform and are looking forward to exploring how far they can go with their singing.

In 2017 and 2018, the chorus was invited to sing at Carnegie Hall with the auditioned, 250-voice Masterwork Festival Chorus, under the direction of Dr. Bruce Chamberlain, Professor Emeritus from the University of Arizona. We were thrilled to be invited to return to Carnegie a third time, in June 2019, to perform the Schumann Requiem, Op. 148, conducted by our very own Heather Mitchell.
We have grown phenomenally, serving over the decades as a musical home to more than 900 singers. The group includes 80 members from Mercer, Hunterdon, Burlington, and Middlesex counties, in New Jersey, and Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The philosophy of the founders remains the same, however: to provide those who love to sing with the opportunity to learn and perform a variety of exceptional music under professional directorship. As always, auditions are not required.
The Hot Air Buffoons first weighed in back in 1996. They set out on a quest to sing theyll and entertain our audiences in a fashion they have never seen before. They soon surprised themselves and others by not only making people laugh but by progressing in the competition realm as well. They excelled in a competition that was made for them and took home gold medals and a pretty large trophy (which signifies 1st place) in the 2001 internationally renowned Buckeye Invitational Comedy Quartet Competition in Columbus, Ohio. Try saying that 5 times real fast. They have continued in the competition realm and are now the 2005 Johnny Appleseed District Champions. They have also competed internationally and are ranked as one of the top twenty quartets in the world (16th to be exact).
HotShots has been entertaining audiences with their unique comedic style since January of 2004. Described as a combination of The Rat Pack meets the Marx Brothers, the quartet is always surprising audiences with something new and unexpected. The South Florida-based foursome has been invited to perform at corporate events, private functions, weddings, collegiate outreach festivals, Barbershop Harmony Society conventions and international vocal competitions. They have done everything from warming up the audience from center court at the USTA Davis Cup tennis tournament, to a command performance for the Governor of Utah, and of course, crooning some good-ole barbershop in front of their hometown crowd.
HouseBlend is an a cappella male quartet performing its own pop, jazz, seasonal, folk, country, gospel and other assorted musical genres. Almost immediately, they were in demand to sing at various occasions in the area. Their repertoire expanded with each performance, their style emerged and their sleek presentation unfolded.

One of Houston's oldest non-profit choral groups, the Bay Area Chorus has brought heartfelt performances to Houston and the Texas Gulf Coast since 1965. Long before the population of the Houston metroplex expanded to the shores of Clear Lake, this thriving choral group had already built a following among local residents and in surrounding communities.
More than 80 singers bring unique interests, ethnicity and cultural experiences to the group and represent a variety of professions as diverse as Houston itself. In addition to performing choral masterworks, this all-volunteer chorus also programs traditional holiday music, historic and contemporary classical choral music, spirituals, folk songs from around the world and Broadway favorites. Continuing growth in enrollment resulted in the formation of the Bay Area Women's Chorus in the fall of 2009. The Women's Chorus performs at all season concerts and had the honor of presenting a concert at the 56th Annual Convention of the Texas Choral Directors Association Convention in San Antonio in July, 2011. Recent guest artists for BAC concerts have included Dr. John Lienhard, founder of KUHF's The Engines of Our Ingenuity, legendary composer/arranger Alice Parker, composer/song leader Nick Page and Houston gospel recording artist Barbara Johnson Tucker with pianist Phillip Hall. The Bay Area Chorus appears on the DVD Weston Noble: Perpetual Inspiration, distributed internationally by the Hal Leonard Corporation.

The Choir is comprised of 25 professional singers, most of whom have studied at the top music schools and conservatories in the United States including Juilliard, New England Conservatory, University of Houston, and University of Texas. These musicians are selected through rigorous auditions from the finest singers in our region and are compensated for all rehearsals and performances.

It is our goal to make the Houston Childrens Chorus completely accessible to every child in the city of Houston regardless of race or economic status.

We are an a cappella, i.e. unaccompanied, men's singing organization comprised of quartets and our large performing chorus. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, chartered in 1946. There are more than 825 BHS chapters in the United States alone and our peers consistently rank us among the Top 20 performing choruses at the Society's International Chorus Competition.
While attempting to preserve the Barbershop harmony style, which, like jazz, is a musical form unique to the United States, we recognize the importance of broadening our audience appeal so that we are more than a niche performing arts group. We don't merely sing those old "chestnuts" from the early 1900's, beautiful though they may have been. Instead, we perform recognizable pop tunes, Broadway show music, country and western or Gospel songs, which are far more contemporary but which we sing in the Barbershop style, none-the-less.
Few things in life are as satisfying as joining a group of talented, enthusiastic singers and making beautiful music together every week. Since 2010, the Hudson Chorale, Westchester's largest chorus, has been performing in venues throughout the County, bringing the best in choral singing to the Hudson Valley. Traditionally the chorus prepares two concert programs a year, one performed in January and another in May/June; two performances are given of each program. Our concerts have included traditional choral pieces such as the Brahms Requiem, lesser known works such as the Mass in D by John Knowles Paine, more contemporary works by composers such as Morten Lauridsen, Jaakko Mantyjarvi, and Eric Whitacre. As our numbers have grown, so have our audiences, and we now enjoy a county-wide reputation for outstanding programming and superb artistry.
The Hudson Community Choruses consist of an adult chorus that sings a wide variety of SATB music and a Children's Chorus for grades 2-5 and Youth Chorus, grades 6-12. They present two concerts a year in December and May, and they rehearse once a week on Tuesday evenings. The chorus offers singers of all levels of ability and experience the opportunity to perform quality choral music. No audition is necessary.
When Hudson Shad gave their German debut in the summer of 1995 they were hailed as the first equal heirs to the Comedian Harmonists by national news magazine Der Stern. This statement has since been repeated many times by the German media - TV, radio and print, both national and local. During three tours and several guest performances Hudson Shad has been welcomed with an enthusiasm as if the prodigal sons had come home. They have sold out prestigious houses like the Theater des Westens in Berlin, the Prinzregenten Theater in Munich and Gewandhaus in Leipzig. On a different occasion in Munich their shows had to be transferred from the medium-sized Lustspiel-haus to the larger Zirkus Krone. What sets Hudson Shad apart from other groups of their genre is first of all their musical professionalism.
