The Greater Milford Community Chorus (GMCC) was organized in April, 1973. It is a non-profit organization sponsored by the Milford Community Use Program and the Milford Cultural Council, which is funded in part by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
The GMCC is known for its wide variety of choral selections ranging from classical pieces like Ave Verum Corpus to spirituals such as Little Innocent Lamb to contemporary music such as the Broadway musical Les Miserables.
The Greater New Bedford Choral Society has been bringing classical choral music to listeners in southeastern Massachusetts since its founding in 1964. We present one concert in spring (usually May) and another in winter (December or January). Our concerts typically include one major choral work plus a selection of shorter pieces chosen for the season of the year and are performed in area churches. We have combined with the New Bedford Symphony, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Chorus and other area choral societies to perform larger works.
Greater New Haven Community Chorus is a non-auditioned, four part (SATB) singing organization with a membership of 100-plus voices. Our singers have very diverse background ranging from those who are highly skilled to those who have never sung in a ensemble before. GNHCC provides a very welcoming and supportive atmosphere for everyone, music literacy training and skill-building is a part of every rehearsal. In addition to our regular rehearsals and concerts, we organize many casual gatherings throughout the year which give members an opportunity to connect with each other on a social level which, in turn, helps us to 'gel' with a more blended and unified sound during our concert ... and we have fun!
The GNCC started in Fall of 2015 and grew out of a need for more after school music ensemble experiences in the Greater Newburyport area. Gina McKeown and Allison Balentine founded the organization after starting an after school chorus at the local upper elementary school. The GNCC, since it's inception, has worked with over 250 students by providing them an opportunity to sing together and meet as musicians. These students originate from Newburyport and the surrounding communities, including Amesbury, Newbury, West Newbury and more! The GNCC hopes to continue growing and have enjoyed seeing our Juniors, our youngest singers to date, grow exponentially this year! The Juniors are a younger age ensemble for 2nd and 3rd grade singers.
The Greater Richmond Chorus (GRC) of Sweet Adelines International (SAI) is a nonprofit organization of women singers dedicated to advancing the musical art form of barbershop a cappella four-part harmony through vocal and showmanship education, performance, competition and community service.

Greenlight Quartet rang their first chords in the summer of 2016 at a youth harmony workshop near Worcester, MA. Since forming, they've won the 2018 Barbershop Harmony Society's Northeastern District Quartet Championship, as well as the 2017 NED Youth Quartet Championship. They have also competed on the International stage twice, placing 7th in their most recent appearance in the 2018 Next Generation Varsity Quartet Contest (formerly YBQC). Originally consisting of only leads and basses scattered around the Northeast District, two members (Louis and Will) selflessly committed themselves to becoming the Tenor and Baritone of the quartet, respectively. In spite of the part switches and the long-distance setup, it's been a winning combination!
The mission of The Greensboro Tarheel Chapter is to provide wholesome and quality musical entertainment for patrons of all ages, to encourage, promote and teach the barbershop art form among local youth and choral groups, to be good citizens involved in community outreach , and to provide a venue for interested singers to come together in fellowship and harmony.
greenTONE a cappella is an all-female contemporary a cappella group that lives life in Madison, WI. Singing as we navigate "life in the real world," gT has devoted its vocal talents and contagious sense of fun to serving up pop, folk and jazz favorites, from doo-wop to hip-hop and beyond! Our aca-adventure began in the fall of 2007 when a few UW Tangled Up In Blue alums made up their minds to start a new group.
Since that first fall, we have had the privilege of singing for a wide variety of events that include weddings, holiday parties, the National Anthem for sold-out Brewers Games at Miller Park, flash mobs for several local events, an annual charity-driven holiday concert series at Cave of the Mounds National Natural Landmark, summer concert events, private fundraisers and a whole lot more.
The Greenville Choral Society, which marked its 50th anniversary in 2019, has grown into perhaps the largest community-based performing arts organization in the eastern third of North Carolina, encompassing four choral ensembles that perform a wide variety of secular and sacred music in Pitt County and beyond.
The society grew out of an idea in 1969 to bring the music programs at East Carolina University and local churches together with talented local musicians. Choir directors at area churches met with ECU music faculty members in August 1969 to join "town and gown into a more personal and enduring relationship," according to an earlier history of the choral society. More than 100 people formed the Greenville Community Chorus a month later.
The Greenville Chorale was organized in 1961 as the "Rotary Civic Chorale" by the Rotary Club of Greenville. From that initial group of forty-five voices, the Chorale has grown to include a roster of over 170 of the most talented voices drawn from across the Upstate, providing our region and its audiences with an accomplished symphonic chorus. Today, as an independent not-for-profit organization, the Greenville Chorale pursues its mission to promote and celebrate the art of choral music. It performs concerts of the great choral masterworks at the highest level of excellence; supports the creative and artistic lives of singers at all stages of their musical development; and reaches into the community to bring the power of live performance to as many people as possible.
Seven years after its founding by Rotary, in 1968, the "Greenville Civic Chorale Association" was chartered as an independent organization, and in 1987, the official title was changed to the Greenville Chorale. Auditions are held annually, but many singers have remained with the organization for decades, sharing their love of choral music by committing hundreds of hours of rehearsal and performance time each year.
The Greenwich Choral Society, a not-for-profit membership-based organization primarily serving Fairfield (CT) and Westchester (NY) counties, is dedicated to excellence in the presentation of choral music.
Founded in 1924 (see History), GCS has consistently explored and interpreted the beauty and influence of music. GCS strives to enrich our community's appreciation of music through performances of the highest quality and educational programs that seek to nurture future singers and audiences alike.
The Greenwood Chorale is comprised of singers from all over the Delta who enjoy performing choral music. We present two concerts each season which are free to the public, performing both sacred and secular music covering a broad spectrum of musical periods and genres
audiences with choral programs that elevate, educate, and entertain; excel in performance by welcoming challenge, discovery, and diversity; and enthusiastically support and promote the performing arts in the Griffin region.
An a cappella supergroup? Sounds paradoxical, absurd, perhaps even dangerous; indeed, The GrooveBarbers is all these things. Each member of this all-vocal powerhouse quartet is a bona fide star in his own right: Sean Altman, Charlie Evett and Steve Keyes are former members of the pioneering contemporary a cappella group Rockapella, and Kevin Weist is a renowned bald vocal guru. Collectively they have established themselves as the "go to" vocal group for rock, doo-wop, jazz and even (no way!) barbershop! The GrooveBarbers were featured in not one but two national TV commercials as The Astelins, the deliriously suave vocal group that offers Astelin nasal spray to seasonal allergy sufferers.
Infectious grooves, stunning arrangements, and electrifying solos are just some of the phrases used to describe Seattle based vocal group Groove For Thought. Since 1998, GFT has brought their unique brand of jazz and R&B infused tunes to festival, concert, school, and nightclub audiences throughout the United States and abroad.
Groove Society, formed by Bianca Herbert & Joe Herbert, is an award winning vocal jazz sextet that is among the top rising stars on the world a cappella scene. In 2006, the group was named "Vocal Group of the Year" by the JPF International Music Awards, as well as being honored for "Best A Cappella Album", and "Best A Cappella Song". And in 2007, Groove Society received the prestigious "IAJE Award for Outstanding Service to Jazz Education" at the International Association for Jazz Education convention in New York City.
With the release of their critically acclaimed debut CD, Groove Society is receiving airplay on major-market jazz and NPR stations from coast to coast and around the world. They have appeared at international jazz festivals across the Mainland U.S., Hawaii, and Canada, sharing the billing with, and/or opening for top artists including Bonnie Raitt, Herbie Hancock, Bobby McFerrin, The Neville Brothers, Eddie Palmieri, Paquito D'Rivera, Freddy Cole, Patty Austin, The Rippingtons, Bobby Hutcherson, Jimmy Heath, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Dr. John, The Bad Plus, Paul Taylor, Nelson Rangell, Soulive, Styx, and many more!
The Grove City Chamber Singers were founded in 1989 by Ellen Linn to participate in the annual Grove City Town Center Christmas Celeberation. Although the group continues to be active during the holiday season, over the years the opportunity to perform has taken the Chamber Singers to numerous local and regional venues, as well as Austria, Italy and Costa Rica.
Though most members reside in Grove City, the group includes members from surrounding communities in Central Ohio.
Growing Girls formed on January 5th, 1979 in Ronninge, Sweden. All four girls were 11 years old at the time, hence the name Growing Girls. Anna's & Malin's mothers sang together in a quartet called "The Beautiful Screamers" and the young daughters thought it would be fun to start a quartet of their own. They asked their respective classmates, Naima & Suzanne if they would be interested in singing in a Barbershop quartet. Naima & Suzanne immediately replied: "Sure, but... what's Barbershop?" Anna's mother, Britt-Helene Bonnedahl, Master director of International medalist chorus Ronninge Show Chorus, became the quartet's coach and mentor. Since the girls started they have performed all over Sweden and the US, as well as in Germany and New Zealand. They all attended Adolf Fredriks Musikskola, a school for performing arts in Stockholm, and were encouraged by their music teacher, Bo Aurehl. In 1983 Britt-Helene started the Ronninge Show Chorus, and Growing Girls were welcome to join Sweet Adelines International at 14 (finally!), with sponsors. The quartet competed and won in the Area (Regional) contests in 1985, 1986 and 1988, and went on to compete at the International contest in Houston in 1988, to reach their dream of becoming Queens of Harmony, in Miami Beach in 1989.
We are officially the Manatee County Chapter (P0004) of The Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS), which is an international organization dedicated to Barbershop singing. Our mission is to provide quality musical entertainment promoting the enjoyment of barbershop harmony in Manatee County and surrounding communities.
Hagerstown Choral Arts, Inc. (HCA) is an auditioned, community-based, volunteer chorus dedicated to bringing the highest level of choral music to Hagerstown, Washington County, and the Tri-State area.
HCA was founded in 1993 by Gregory P. Shook and Ned Wetherald, local musicians who desired to create a vocal ensemble that would perform both sacred and secular music from a variety of musical periods, styles, and cultures.
Hagerstown Choral Arts continues to grow in size, skill, and variety of musical offerings. HCA has continued to hold an average of 60 members each season. Under Mr. Shook's careful direction, HCA furthers its goal to increase awareness and appreciation of music in the community by collaborating with local organizations, performing arts groups, and musicians.
HCA performs in local churches, and other community venues, featuring local musicians, soloists, and music students in its concerts. Being invited to perform with both the Maryland Symphony Orchestra and the Hagerstown Municipal Band, HCA continues to reach a broad section of our community, performing music that some may hear for the first time during these performances.

Halfway to Midnight is a co-ed band of musical misfits who, having missed the thrill of the a cappella world and desiring an outlet to strengthen our individual instruments, serendipitously found each other in the midst of the great big beautiful Bay Area and begun gathering weekly to share in the blend of our voices together. Our life stories are as varied as our voices yet we find common ground in our love of instrument-free music-making and we truly hope you like what you hear.
HALO represents the first Barbershop quartet of African American singers to compete on the international stage of a Barbershop organization. We sing a Capella- hip hop and Barbershop. Our quartet also represents our organization HALO, Inc. working to use the Barbershop genre as a framework for our Community Music Therapy initiative using the listening and singing experience of Barbershop music to confront issues of racism in the United States with productive dialogue.

Founded in Boston in 1815, the Handel and Haydn Society is the oldest continuously performing arts organization in the United States. The Society is a renowned period orchestra and professional chorus, performing music of the baroque and classical periods on the instruments and with the techniques of the time in which it was composed. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Harry Christophers, the Society's mission is "to perform baroque and classical music at the highest levels of artistic excellence and to share that music with as large and diverse an audience as possible."
Handel Choir of Baltimore was founded by singers who performed Mendelssohn's Elijah with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in 1934. Interested in promoting and performing classical choral-orchestral music, the original members chose Handel as their namesake and Messiah for their first performance, inaugurating an annual performance tradition which has continued uninterrupted.
The Choir has presented masterpieces of the choral and choral-orchestral repertoire as well as music new to Baltimore audiences. Rather than performing in a fixed venue, the Choir is proud to present subscription concerts in a variety of concert halls, churches and synagogues throughout the metropolitan area. Frequent informal performances during the year include concerts for retirement communities, civic events and educational programs. The Handel Choir vocal ensemble is a community-based auditioned ensemble of forty to fifty singers, each of whom pays dues and purchases their own music for the privilege of singing.
The Happiness Emporium, 1975 International quartet champions, is living proof that experience pays off. The "Emporium" members averaged 37 years of age when they won gold medals. Their collective experience, even before they came together for the first time in 1972, included participation in 24 international contests and with three district champion quartets, plus four USO tours to the Pacific.
Seven months after formation they placed 24th at the contest in Portland. The next year they were 9th, and in Indianapolis in 1975 they leaped to the gold. When Bob Spong retired from the quartet in 1983, Dick Treptow sang with them until 1987, and then Rick Andersonreplaced Dick on bari.

Still basking in their victory, they are currently preparing to compete in the main event at the 2011 SAI convention in Houston, TX.
While there are more than two dozen choruses in the Atlantic-Bay-Mountain Region of Sweet Adelines International, the Harbor City Music Company Show Chorus strives to set itself apart through its attention to musicality, creativity, and artistry. Thanks to Michael's amazing arrangements, our repertoire goes far beyond traditional barbershop, encompassing everything from Broadway to the Beatles and Billy Joel. When last asked, Michael calculates that he has arranged nearly 30 different songs for the chorus, and is always considering new melodies to add to the repertoire.
With the amazing success of the musical hit "Jersey Boys" touring throughout the country, and the even more recent emergence of "Straight No Chaser" into the marketplace, the a cappella Doo Wop sound has never been more in the forefront. The Harbormen Barbershop Chorus was chartered in 1966 as the North Brookhaven chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America (SPEBSQSA), now know as the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS). The chapter originally met in Port Jefferson, with about 25 members joining in the first year. After 52 years the Chorus is still going strong with a current roster of 36 members and growing.
In additional to an annual show, the Chorus performs regularly at other venues throughout the year. This can include singing with other A Capella groups or quartets formed from within the chapter. From time to time the chorus or quartets have competed in BHS events, participated in singing Valentines and Holiday programs, sung at parties, sporting events, church meetings and many other celebrations and special occasions. On one occasion the chorus even traveled to Russia to share their A Capella barbershop style with people in that country.
Members of the chorus come from all walks of life: we have teachers, salesmen, engineers and scientists, an air traffic controller, a chef, a policeman, and a variety of other professions, some still working and others retired. We range in age from 20s to 80s; some have been members for just a short time while others for many decades. In addition to traditional barbershop songs, the chorus performs four-part arrangements of doo-wop, crooner, classic rock and even some recent contemporary numbers, as well as a wide selection of holiday music.
The mission of The Harford Choral Society is to establish a trained chorus of singers to share the pleasures of classical music with the Harford community, to present choral concerts, and to support music education in schools and in individual achievement through awards and scholarships.
