Under the artistic leadership of Eliza Rubenstein since 2000, the Orange County Women's Chorus has grown from a small group of women brainstorming about singing together to one of the region's leading choruses. The OCWC has performed at venues including the Orange County Performing Arts Center, the Irvine Barclay Theatre, Walt Disney Concert Hall's REDCAT Theater, the 2004 and 2012 western regional conferences of the American Choral Directors' Association, and most recently, Carnegie Hall. The chorus was named a 2014 Outstanding Arts Organization by Arts Orange County and won a prize at the 2015 International Musical Eisteddfod in Llangollen, Wales. We've collaborated with ensembles including Bel Canto, MenAlive, the Wooden Floor (formerly the Saint Joseph Ballet), the South Coast Symphony, the Agape Voices of Praise, the All-American Boys' Chorus, and Men in Blaque.
Our wide-ranging repertoire includes medieval chants, multicultural folk songs, classical masterworks, protest songs, gospel tunes, and more. We're especially proud of our commitment to new music and up-and-coming musicians; we regularly commission new works for women's voices, and our conducting internship program, designed to encourage young women entering the field of choral conducting, has been a model for other choruses around the nation.
We're Number Fun! The Orange Empire Chorus is a group of men who love to sing. We gather each week to have fun ringing chords in four-part barbershop harmony. We love to perform, and our audiences return again and again to join in the fun of our performances. Each year we present numerous shows and contest performances filled with comedy and song.
Now in its fifth decade, the Oratorio Chorale is a symphonic chorus of auditioned, professionally directed singers committed to advancing choral music through exceptional performances as well as educational and community outreach and collaborations. Our typical concert season under the leadership of Director Emily Isaacson includes five concert programs, with 15-16 performances. Our women's chorus, Sweetest in the Gale, inaugurated in 2015, performs at our "Sing We Noel" and April programs. Our Young Artists Program, begun in 2015, enrolls five to six high school students as full participants in the Chorale.
The Oratorio Society of Minnesota, established in 1980, is an auditioned 90-voice ensemble based in the Twin Cities metro area. The group challenges and delights its audiences and singers through dynamic and diverse choral music performed with skill and passion. Its civic engagement and educational programs foster lifelong choral singing.
For more than 60 years, The Oratorio Society of New Jersey (OSNJ) has contributed to the vitality of culture in northern New Jersey. We perform the magnificent music of oratorios, cantatas, and related genres composed from the Baroque era to the present. Our members have joined OSNJ because they love choral singing, especially under the guidance of our gifted music director, Dr. Sandor Szabo.
The communities we serve are proud of our presence, and we are in turn proud that the sounds of Bach, Brahms, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Poulenc and many others have enriched the lives of thousands of listeners over the years.
Founded in 1966, The Oratorio Society is central Virginia's longest-running community chorus. From our first performance of Handel's Messiah in 1968, we have evolved to present major works with professional orchestras, traditional holiday performances, community engagement concerts, and innovative collaborations.
Orcas Choral Society shares a passion for mastering a variety of beautiful music that enriches the lives of singers, audiences, and communities through education, performance, and collaboration.
The OBF Chorus is made up of professional singers from all over the United States. Chorus members are compensated for their work during the Festival and receive room and board during their stay.
Many new members are found through a recorded audition process. Auditions are judged against the standard of the chorus and those deemed of the quality required are added to the list of potential singers for future openings. While we accept auditions on a continuing basis, auditions are evaluated annually in December and January. For full consideration, potential chorus members should submit their materials in November and December each year. Existing chorus members are re-invited annually based on their most recent live auditions and on the repertory programmed.
OCC was founded in 1982 by Dr. Randall Moore, University of Oregon Music Professor Emeritus, to supplement the music education offered in local schools by providing advanced choral experiences for talented young musicians. Since then, OCC has grown from one choir into an organization that includes 8+ after-school choirs, summer camps and in-school programs serving over 500 youth. Choirs rehearse and perform throughout the choir season (September through May/June). Oregon Children's Choir produces four public concerts per year in addition to performing at retirement homes, community events and with other professional community productions.
The Oregon Chorale is a sixty-voice symphonic choir directed by Jason Sabino. Founded by Bernie Kuehn and based in Hillsboro, Oregon, the Oregon Chorale has been delighting audiences since 1985, performing choral music from around the world and maintaining an appreciation for technique while exhibiting flexibility of musical style. The passion that we have for singing challenging, beautiful music is matched only by our love of the community and the fun we create together. We have sung in over 40 languages, traveled all over the world, and are constantly looking for the next big work to perform. Our formal concerts showcase a variety of styles from Classical to Baroque, Renaissance to Contemporary. Our less formal presentations include world folk music, spirituals, dinner theater and staged shows.

You're never too young or too old to sing! Nothing compares to the feeling of standing side by side with some of your closest friends, creating harmonies that visibly move an audience.
The Canby Chapter aka "The Oregon Trail Pitchpipers" started in February, 1965 with the gathering of 17 men who wanted to sing. Attendance increased as time passed by. The members were attending the Evergreen District conventions as spectators to become better acquainted with the Barbershop style of harmony.
We continue to entertain in the Canby and surrounding areas as well as producing our annual chapter show, usually in February.

Orfeia is an all-woman vocal ensemble dedicated to preserving and sharing traditional music from Bulgaria and Eastern Europe. The Oriana Singers have been stretching artistic boundaries since first coming together in 1979. Led by noted conductor William Chin, they have toured Chicagoland and abroad, experimenting with the chemistry of Renaissance songs and contemporary vocal jazz spark for audiences and singers. The six-voice soprano-soprano-alto-tenor-baritone-bass (SSATBB) configuration of The Oriana Singers has been recognized by leading critics for making a difference in presenting a wide range of a cappella music for diverse audiences. This mission has expanded to foster collaborations across disciplines with other artists and nurture emerging choral ensembles for the promotion of self-directing small ensemble singing.
The Oriana Singers is recognized for its innovative programming, complementing existing major arts productions in Chicagoland and offering music otherwise not heard elsewhere. Recent seasons have included performances of music from Monteverdi's Eighth Book of Madrigals and the Vespers of 1610, contrasted with later programs of polyphonic folk music from Russia, Finland, and Georgia and new arrangements of popular hits from artists including Coldplay and Imogen Heap. The six-voice work of The Oriana Singers is imaginative, eclectic, and impeccably rehearsed, featuring leading vocalists associated with the Grant Park Symphony Chorus, Chicago Symphony Chorus, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and Bella Voce. The singers and collaborating instrumentalists brought together by The Oriana Singers have been called "world-class" by several internationally versed listeners, including Robert Osterlund, administrator of EarlyMusiChicago, and indeed the group has made successful splashes touring in Spain and Costa Rica.
The real beginning of the Oriole Four, 1970 International champion quartet, was in 1951 outside a Baltimore high school - although no one, of course, knew it at the time. That's when students Fred King and Jim Grant first met, discovered they had a mutual fondness for harmony and sang an impromptu duet. They joined the Society a couple of years later, found two other students who liked to harmonize and formed the Deacon Four, with Jim on lead and Fred on baritone. The quartet, with occasional personnel changes, was still getting together now and then after its members had graduated, and in 1956 the name was changed to the Oriole Four.
This highly influential vocal group was formed in 1948 in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Along with the Ravens, the Orioles were considered the pioneers of rhythm and blues vocal harmony. The group members were Sonny Til (b. Earlington Carl Tilghman, 18 August 1928, Baltimore, Maryland, USA, d. 9 December 1981, USA; lead), Alexander Sharp (b. 1919, Baltimore, Maryland, USA, d. 1970; tenor), George Nelson (b. Baltimore, Maryland, USA, d. 1959; baritone), Johnny Reed (b. 16 July 1923, Baltimore, Maryland, USA, d. 18 June 2005, Lakewood, New Jersey, USA; bass) and guitarist/second tenor Tommy Gaither (b. Baltimore, Maryland, USA, d. 5 November 1950, USA). Originally known as the Vibra-Naires, the group (with original bass vocalist Richard Williams) made their debut on the Manor label in March 1948 with the track "Tell Me So". The newly renamed Orioles (to honour the state bird of Maryland) launched their career with the quiet, languorous ballad "It's Too Soon To Know", which went to number 1 in the R&B charts (number 13 pop) in late 1948. The song was written by Deborah Chessler, the group's manager, and she wrote many of their subsequent hits.

In addition to the full chorus, OGC has four small ensembles that perform at the annual concerts and cabarets, as well as at community and private events: OUTLOUD!, the oldest running ensemble; Nothin' But Treble, the all-female ensemble; Menage, the jazz ensemble; and Spectrum, the mixed ensemble.
The Orlando Gay Chorus is comprised of individuals from all walks of life, all ages, and all orientations: gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender volunteers - as well as many straight allies. OGC warmly welcomes all who would like to join them in their goal of changing hearts and minds in Central Florida and throughout the world.
In 1950 a barbershop quartet, as yet unnamed, was to do a show in Wichita and the SPEBSQSA chapter president needed a name for the program, so he called the group 'The Orphans.' The name grew on them, and in 1954 they won District and Prelim contests, and then they were off to the Big Dance in Washington, DC. With the help of a Miracle Doctor, lead singer Bob Groom overcame the loss of his voice on their last set, and The Orphans, the pride of Wichita, were adopted-as International Champs! They wore the Gold with pride, singing nearly 60 shows a year all over the country.

The vision for what has become the annual tradition of the Orrville Community Chorus began with one man, Victor Gerber. Victor (Vic) first performed "Messiah" in 1928 at Bluffton College, playing viola in a concert featuring a 200-voice choir accompanied by orchestra. In a 1993 interview Vic said, "I fell in love with the work and asked my minister, The Rev. A.R. Kaiser, if it could be sung in my home congregation at Salem Mennonite." The minister agreed. In 1932, Vic directed performances of Handel's "Messiah" at Salem Mennonite Church near Kidron and the First Presbyterian Church in Dalton. Corrine Gerber Krehbiel, Vic's sister, was the first piano accompanist. Thus began a tradition that continues to this day.
The Oshkosh Chamber Singers was founded to provide the Oshkosh area with quality performances of significant choral music and to increase the cultural and educational quality of life of the community.
The group was formed in 1985 when the choirs from the Algoma Boulevard United Methodist Church and the First Congregational Church combined to perform Bach's St. John's Passion. Several of the musicians involved wanted to continue to perform works that were beyond the capabilities of any single church choir. In its thirty-plus years, OCS has performed a wide range of serious choral literature, both religious and secular. In 1990, the group performed its first holiday service of "A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols" at Trinity Episcopal Church. This has become an annual event, at which community leaders are asked to participate as readers. Beginning in 1984, two performances were given on the same day, and the concert has been recorded for broadcast on public radio.
Comprised of four men with championship ranking in both the Barbershop Harmony Society and a cappella circles, OUR TOWN won both the prestigious Harmony Sweepstakes (the oldest a cappella competition in America) and Barbershop Harmony Society Northeastern Districts in 2009.

Intent on singing familiar songs for the enjoyment of varying audiences - college students to traditional song buffs - OUR TOWN boasts a repertoire reflective of musical tastes ranging from contemporary up-tunes to nostalgic ballads.

Oure Pleasure Singers is a small group of vocalists dedicated to the joy of serious music-making. Comprised of singers from Providence, Attleboro, and surrounding communities, the ensemble sings an eclectic variety of music, ranging from plainchant to jazz, and embracing both the sacred and the secular.
Based in Attleboro MA, Oure Pleasure was founded in 1983 by friends who were seeking the special enjoyment of a small, closely-knit vocal ensemble. In its earlier days, Oure Pleasure concentrated on madrigals and music of the Renaissance and Medieval periods, and its name is borrowed from the words of the madrigal Sing We and Chant It, once its signature piece.
OurSong is comprised of musicians from all walks of life with varying levels of musical experience. Some members hold degrees in music, some grew up singing in church, some have performed with famous artists and conductors and some have joined OurSong as their first foray into choral music. However, all of us sing with OurSong because we love to sing. We love the gift that making music brings to our lives and we love sharing that gift with our audience.
OurSong has been active for over fifteen years. Before that, there was a gap in the Atlanta LGBTQ choral music scene. We needed a mixed chorus. Our community has not grown into the vibrant oasis in the South only on the shoulders of gay men and lesbians in isolation. It takes all of us, coming together, as a chosen family, to make progress and facilitate change. OurSong embodies this collective effort.
Out Loud Chorus is a mixed chorus for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community, yet open to all. Founded in the spring of 2006 by current director Nicholas Girard, Overboard is a male a cappella group from Boston, MA. First conceived as a street performance group intent on entertaining audiences around coastal New England during the summer months, Overboard has come a long way in a short time. The group's first album, Shipwrecked, was recorded in Nick's living room and was released during that first summer. Shipwrecked was distributed during frequent busking stops in Newburyport, MA; Freeport, ME and Burlington, VT, as well as around the group's hometown of Boston.

Formed in 1982 by students of the esteemed director Phil Mattson, members of the P.M. Singers became identified with the Phil Mattson School and many have gone on to great professional and academic success in their own right. (Two examples are Joe Finetti, who now sings with The Bobs, and Michele Weir, a respected educator and arranger.) This mixed group has the talent and range to master the most technical of charts, as well as the warmth and emotion to stir the heart-witness"A Child Is Born," with a facile piano accompaniment by Phil Mattson himself, who plays keyboards throughout. Many of the arrangements allow one voice to solo, adding and subtracting harmonies for interest and variety. "I'll Be Seeing You" is a cappella and allows the melody to shine, gradually opening up the song with a frugal harmony that never interferes, but builds to a subtle crescendo and then resolves to an elegant closing cadence, the lead voice holding the final note while the lower parts complete the subject. A pleasure to listen to and a model of arranging virtuosity.
Pacific Boychoir choristers participate in a very old tradition. Boychoirs have been around for hundreds of years, dating back at least to the fourth century. Early modern boychoirs were trained to sing with the collegiate and cathedral choirs of Europe. Today, most boychoirs are not affiliated with churches, though much of the great music written for boys came out of this tradition.
The Pacific Boychoir aims to match the world's best boychoirs (e.g., the Vienna Boys of Austria, Drakensberg of South Africa, the American Boychoir of Princeton). Critical reviews imply that the Pacific Boychoir is succeeding! Choristers learn that extraordinary accomplishment teaches lifelong lessons. Hard work leads to mastery. Personal responsibility and teamwork go hand in hand. The challenge of improvement leads to the joy of art well performed.
PBA is an independent day school for boys in grades 4-8, with several after-school choirs for boys in pre-kindergarten through high school. PBA is a richly diverse community, focusing on excellence in academics and music education.
Founded in 1968, Pacific Chorale is internationally recognized for exceptional artistic expression, stimulating American-focused programming, and influential education programs. Pacific Chorale presents a substantial performance season of its own at the Orange County Performing Arts Center and is sought regularly to perform with the nation's leading symphonies. Under the inspired guidance of Artistic Director John Alexander, Pacific Chorale has infused an Old World art form with California's hallmark innovation and cultural independence.
Pacific Chorale is comprised of 160 professional and volunteer singers. In addition to its long-standing partnership with Pacific Symphony, the Chorale has performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic in Disney Hall on numerous occasions. Other noted collaborations include the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, the Boston Symphony, the National Symphony, and the Long Beach, Pasadena, Riverside and San Diego symphonies.
The mission of Pacific Coast Chorale is to develop intercultural and intergenerational understanding by providing San Diego's diverse communities with access to musical excellence in a wide variety of genres. By using performance, cooperation, education, and community engagement to explore the power of traditional and historic choral music, contrasted with the energy and drive of more modern compositions, Pacific Coast Chorale enables these communities to experience each other's cultures and helps to build musical bridges between them.
La Jolla's own Pacific Coast Harmony is an award-winning a cappella ensemble that has recently added a mixed chorus under the Barbershop Harmony Society's Everyone in Harmony initiative. PCH is always welcoming new members! While we have temporarily suspended our regular rehearsals due to COVID, we hold bi-weekly virtual rehearsals using ZOOM and other creative approaches.
