The mission is to perform sacred and secular choral, orchestral, and new commissioned works; to collaborate with other arts groups; to participate in community service activities; and to provide a leadership in developing, sponsoring, and broadening the vocal arts.
The Masterworks Chorale is an ensemble of auditioned singers who enrich the cultural environment of Metro East with outstanding performances of significant choral literature. The Chorale sponsors the Masterworks Children's Choruses which share the same musical objectives of a disciplined and professional approach to the understanding and appreciation of music through musicianship, quality literature and performance.
The membership represents a six-county area in Illinois and Missouri and includes a wide variety of professions and musical backgrounds. Many members have music degrees, most have studied voice privately, and several are church organists, choir directors, or music teachers.
The Masterworks Chorale of Carroll County, known formerly as the Carroll County Choral Arts Society, was founded in 1977 under the direction of conductor David Kreider. Since its founding, the group has brought the community the works of historical masters such as Mozart, Brahms, Haydn, Handel and Mendelssohn, as well as many contemporary composers. The group has performed in Baltimore at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen and with the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions Choir.
Masterworks Chorale is one of the leading choruses in the Boston area and an active part of the region's musical community. Dr. Kevin Leong became our Music Director in our 2017-2018 season. Masterworks draws its committed singers, professional orchestra, and talented soloists from throughout New England. The Chorale performs a three-concert series at Sanders Theatre and other local venues. We offer popular community 'Sings' at the holidays and in the summer, and do outreach events for the community.
Founded in 1964 by Galen Marshall and currently under the direction of Dr. Bryan Baker, Masterworks Chorale performs a rich variety of music, from major works of the Renaissance and Baroque periods, to modern masterpieces, and new works by contemporary composers. This innovative programming makes Masterworks endlessly engaging for both performer and listener. Our season opens with the ambitious production of Mendelssohn's grand oratorio, Elijah, truly a magnificent work with its enthralling musical drama and pathos.
Masterworks Chorale is a mixed voice ensemble comprised of singers from the Toledo area. It strives to skillfully and professionally perform a diverse variety of choral literature and provide its audiences and members with an enriching and fulfilling musical experience.
Founded in the fall of 1972 by Benjamin Locke and his mother, Rose Mary Locke, the Chorale has premiered several compositions by local and world-renowned composers and sponsors annual high school internships and choral workshops.
Masterworks Chorale is overseen by Tim Cloeter, a conductor and singer with more than twenty years of experience in higher education, teaching conducting, choral literature, diction, music theory, and aural skills, and leading choirs that have consistently been invited to perform at music conferences and on concert series. Cloeter has led the Chorale since 2013, and he also serves as director of music at Perrysburg First United Methodist Church.
The primary purpose of the Masterworks Chorus of the Palm Beaches is to expose and educate its members and the general public to great choral masterpieces. The performance of these works from all nationalities, styles, and periods will educate, enrich, and enhance the quality of life of its members and the patrons who come to hear this beautiful and time-tested music. A secondary goal is to make our performances affordable to all, so the chorus continually strives to trim costs and keep ticket prices low so more members in the community can come and hear this beautiful "live" music. In addition, it's important that students are exposed to classical music so one of our goals is to continue working with local schools to incorporate their choral students into our programs to give these children exposure to an adult choral group so that they might continue America's great choral tradition as they become adults.
The formation of MatriX in the spring of 2001 combined three seasoned veterans: Paul Gilman, (baritone with the international champs, Interstate Rivals and Marquis); Dale Fetick (tenor with the international champs Marquis); and Mark Green (lead with International champs Jokers Wild) with a newcomer Brian O'Dell on bass. MatriX successfully entered into barbershop competition by capturing the Johnny Appleseed District championship in October 2001. The quartet went on to place 19th at the International barbershop convention in 2002.
2003 brought on a change in the direction of MatriX and an even bigger newcomer in lead Jeff Wallace. With that formation in November of 2002, the group went on to place 12th in the 2003 Montreal international competition and 9th in the 2006 Indianapolis event. You will enjoy the nice rich and exciting sound of MatriX and their mix of old and new music that will have you sitting back in your seat reflecting and at the same time wondering what is to come.

Why the name Max Q? During the launch of space vehicles, the launch crew can be heard talking about "passing max q". That is the point where the combination of increasing speed and decreasing density is maximum. Vehicles are designed to withstand only a certain Maximum Q before they will suffer structural damage. When Max Q takes the stage, you will discover a new kind of increasing speed of sound and reduced vocal density that creates their own kind of structural damage. A barbershop super quartet!!
Members:- Greg Clancy, Tony De Rosa, Gary Lewis, Jeff Oxley

From its beginnings, the Festival has also depended upon and fostered the talents of vocal and instrumental musicians living in the community. Local and regional choral groups have always shared the stage with the volunteers of the official May Festival Chorus, and young singers have been included to encourage the next generation of performers.
Families, friends and music lovers as well as astute business and philanthropic leaders have realized that the best of civic pride is reflected in strong support of the arts; they have enabled the Festival to continue to thrive for five generations.
This is where voices belong. The May Festival Chorus is the heart of Cincinnati's May Festival, the longest-running choral festival in North America, and the official chorus of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) and Cincinnati Pops.
The Mayflower Chorus is the performing ensemble of the Mayflower Choral Society, a nonprofit organization devoted to supporting the educational and cultural benefits of musical performance to its members, the Marin community, and general public. The Mayflower Chorus has no formal auditions, but members must meet certain musical qualifications. Being a member of the Chorus requires regular attendance to build both shared choral experience and knowledge. We become an ensemble when you go from "I know this" to "We know this together" and from "I can do this" to "We can do this together."

Measure for Measure was founded in 1988 by five alumni of the University of Michigan Men's Glee Club, to provide an opportunity for men to perform music composed and arranged for male chorus.
Hailed by critics as "a high-energy vocal phenomenon that'll simply knock your socks off!" (JazzBeat), measureXmeasure (measure by measure) is an a cappella sensation that proves the human voice is indeed the most versatile of all instruments. Despite what the listeners' ears may tell them, mXm uses no drum machines, synthesizers, pre-recorded material or instruments of any kind. Every sound - whether it be soaring five-part vocal harmonies, jaw-dropping vocal bass, or astonishing beat-box vocal percussion - is produced live by the voices of these five young men. Originally formed in the mid-1990's as a student group at the University of Kansas, the Kansas City-based quintet now travels coast-to-coast year-round headlining concerts halls, festivals and college campuses everywhere.
We are a unique group, founded by the late Margriet Tindemans in 1990, open to all women in the Seattle area, presenting an opportunity to sing in a friendly and supportive environment. We are one of the few choirs in the United States to specialize in medieval repetoire, a less familiar but very beautiful body of music, spanning 400 years (1100-1500 C.E.). Choir members come from all walks of life and ages, and many have sung with the choir for more than a decade.
For the past 27 years, the Medieval Women's Choir has presented repertoire from the British Isles, Spain and Portugal, France, Germany, Scandinavia, the Netherlands and included special themes such as medieval Jewish Sephardic music, the music of St. Hildegard of Bingen, Cantigas of Santa Maria, and semi-staged narratives like Ordo Virtutum, City of Ladies, and Heloise & Abelard. We sing in many languages, with dialectic variations from the period, along with translations.
The Medina Chorus was created in 1935 as an opportunity for Medina area high school students and community singers to join in performing Handel's Messiah. The Chorus continued to perform through the WW II years that were lean in the men's sections, and eventually added a spring season to present lighter works each year in May. BR>
Today's Medina Chorus is a non-auditioned, mixed-voice community ensemble with over 75 members of all ages and backgrounds who come from throughout Northeast Ohio.
BR>
As a vibrant part of the Medina arts landscape, the Chorus performs in public concerts and outreach events throughout the community.
BR>
We are a friendly group of people who love to sing a wide variety of challenging music. In the last decade, our repertoire has included major works by Handel, Haydn and Britten, choral works by composers and arrangers from around the world, as well as the American musical theater.
BR>

Mel Torme was a child actor and musical prodigy. He began singing at the age of three, studied piano and drums, and at 15 published his first song which was recorded by Harry James. In 1942 he joined the band of comedian Chico Marx as drummer, singer, and vocal arranger, and in 1943 he formed his own group, the Mel-Tones, and appeared in his first film, Higher and Higher, with Frank Sinatra. The Mel-Tones, a precursor of contemporary vocal jazz, were popular during WWII and enjoyed several hits on their own as well as with Artie Shaw's band.
Melo-Edge competed internationally three times before winning. Maureen and Donna are sisters. With several other barbershop champions, the quartet appeared on the nationally broadcast Phil Donahue Show in 1983.
At the time the quartet won the championship, the members led full and busy lives outside the organization: Janell listed her occupation as "domestic engineer," and she also served as office manager for her husband, a nationally known watercolor artist and instructor; Donna was a senior systems analyst for a Chicago insurance company; and Debra was vice president in charge of Options Exchange for a Chicago stock brokerage firm. Melo-Edge was active through the years, not only performing on barbershop shows and other events but coaching and teaching at music schools and seminars as well. Melo-Edge retired at the Coronet Club Show in Atlanta, Georgia, in September 1999.

We are focused not only on the continuing musical growth of the boys, but also the process of them developing into the next great leaders in the city of Memphis. We continue to search and recruit boys who love to sing as well as families that appreciate the life-long skill of music making that their children are exposed to.
