Bella Voce Women's Chorus of Vermont was founded in March of 2004 by Dr. Dawn Willis and debuted their first full concert in May of that same year. The chorus of 45 auditioned singers performs existing and newly-commissioned sacred and secular works for women's voices throughout Vermont and the Northeastern United States. Our name, Bella Voce, is an Italian phrase meaning "beautiful voice" and we strive to achieve this artistic goal at all times. A non-profit organization, Bella Voce is governed by a 14-member Board of Directors guided by Director Dr. Willis' artistic vision.
We sing smooth, soulful, & feel-good a cappella. It all started in the living room of a little apartment, wanting to sing. Combining our different music backgrounds and styles, we formed an a cappella group named after our apartment number. We laugh, we dance, & we play because expression is our shared passion. We are #FOURTY4B."
'Round Midnight is an award-winning "a cappella" quartet of music educators from the Long Island/Manhattan area of New York. While they sing primarily in the barbershop style, their eclectic influences range from jazz to classical and everything in between. The group is a two-time Semi-Finalist in the Barbershop Harmony Society's (BHS) International Barbershop Quartet Contest and they are also the BHS 2010 Mid-Atlantic District Quartet Champions. In addition, the foursome won the New York City Harmony Sweepstakes Championship and was bestowed with the coveted "Audience Favorite" award by overwhelming crowd vote. The quartet has received praise for their self-titled debut recording too, receiving a Contemporary A Cappella Recording Award (CARA) nomination in the category of "Best Barbershop Song" for their rendition of "Try A Little Tenderness". 'Round Midnight has been featured in an array of showcases, contests, and educational workshops spanning the United States from New York to California.

Although from 3 different cities, Kansas City is where they like to call home. They are active in the Kansas City area, encouraging youth to get involved in music. Every year they put together a tour of schools, and this past January, their tour involved 15 schools and over 1,300 kids.
One of the prize Barbershop compilations of all time by the legendary 139th Street Quartet, 'Collection' is a winner for lovers of the finest Barbershop Harmony in the history of SPEBSQSA. The quartet was formed in 1975, and got its name from the address of Pete Neushul's factory building in LA, deciding to let the group make the name, instead of the name making the group. Four different lead singers, Jim Meehan (1975-78), Larry Wright (1978-88), John Sherburn (1988-91) and Dan Jordan(1991-present) contribute at least 10 songs to the grand total of 64 songs on this 3-disc set (which are, oddly, numbered 1, 3 and 9). Within 2 years of its founding, the 139th won a silver medal at the SPEBSQSA Internationals in Philadelphia, and regularly did well in competition, for instance scoring bronze medals in 1989, silver in 1990, and bronze again in 1991. Appearing on TV for the first time in 1985 on the first of several episodes of 'Cheers,' this was quickly followed by an episode of 'Night Court.' They were also very fortunate to record with the legendary Neil Diamond, who sang lead with the group on a song for each of his Christmas recordings, both of which went multi-platinum, 'God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen' on disc 3 is one of these tunes.

The 18th Street Singers is a fifty-voice ensemble committed to musical excellence and bringing a fresh and more accessible take on choral music to a wider audience in Washington, DC. At the same time, we're dedicated to being a supportive community for our members, who come from all walks of life and are cherished friends and colleagues.
We seek to program concerts that move our members and our audiences by unabashedly mixing the best of genres. We sing music that you think of as "traditional" choral music, we find lesser-known gems, and we prioritize amplifying the voices, composers, and themes that are often missing at classical music concerts.
We have performed at a wide range of prestigious venues, such as at the Sixth & I Historic Synagogue, the Kennedy Center, the National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony (attended by President Barack Obama), and fielding repeat invitations to the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston. And we've also stepped into the spotlight by performing as back-up singers for Demi Lovato and Hugh Jackman and being voted DC's Best Local Choral Group in Washington City Paper's Best of DC 2018 & 2019.
We are an all-volunteer organization (including all artistic and management positions), but many of our members have studied music professionally or are paid singers in other ensembles. Some of us grew up here, and some of us are new to the area, but we come together to build a community and share our love for singing with others!

Since grauating from Central Washington University they have all taken different career paths but still find time to come together in order to pursue musical excellence and share their passion for performing as 20/20.
Start with two music educators, add one preacher, stir in a financial planner, and you could have the basic ingredients for any barbershop quartet. But 3 Men & A Melody is not your basic quartet. Tenor, Rob Mathieu, 2nd generation barbershopper, is a Kansas City based children's musician/performer. Not only does he teach preschool music, he performs interactive musical kids shows under the alias, Rockin Rob, geared for children 2-10 years old. Eric Derks leads the foursome musically but admits that telling jokes is not his forte. Brian Bellof is a second generation barbershop bass with a natural ability for showmanship. Baritone, Brad Stephens is the out-of-control comic of the four who keeps 3 Men & A Melody's audiences laughing.
3 Men & A Melody love what they do and have a high respect for the barbershop style. Their talent, energy, and enthusiasm are truly exciting for everyone to watch. 3 Men & A Melody's love of performing continues to escalate every day in hopes that they will be known throughout the Barbershop Harmony Society and the United States for their fun-filled entertainment and singing excellence.
Founded in 1997, all-male Doo Wop quartet 4 Ever Young, from the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex, is the brainchild of Bruce Smith, who set out to assemble an a cappella Doo-Wop group to help keep alive the music he used to sing on the streets of Brooklyn, NY, and perform with the Deacons and the Montclairs in the 50s and 60s. 16 Doo-Wop standards, "Barbara Ann," "So Much In Love, "Sunday Kind of Love," Book of Love," "Blue Moon," "At My Front Door," "409," "In the Still of the Night," "Monster Mash," "Charlie Brown" ...you get the idea. There's also a pretty cool cover of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" as a Doo-Wop song. These guys are smooth as silk, professional, authentic and spot on key-one of the best Doo-Wop CDs we've heard this year!
First organized in 1977, 4 For The Show won its first regional contest the following year. By 1981 there had been two personnel changes, resulting in an addition in an international champion vocal combination. This quartet was the first to sing one of Sweet Adelines' most popular contest ballads, Kiss Me One More Time (composed and arranged by Norma Anderson).
Sally would later go on to win a second quartet gold medal (Panache, 1990); Joni was considered to be one of Sweet Adelines most accomplished leaders - she directed Verdugo Hills chorus for more than 20 years and was active as an arranger, a coach, and a judge in three categories. 4 For The Show retired as an active quartet in 1988. Joni Bescos passed away in 2009.

A Besere Velt - A Better World - is proud to be a "voice" for justice. This 70-member intergenerational community chorus weaves the heartache and irrepressible idealism of Yiddish folk music into a vision of justice and humanity for the 21st century. From haunting melodies to workers' anthems, the songs come alive with multi-layered harmonies.
The repertoire of A Besere Velt grew out of the shtetls, the sweatshops and union meetings, the camps and ghettos. These folk songs make the richness of the Eastern European immigrant experience accessible to a generation of non-Yiddish speakers. They contain the sounds of the history, the culture and the progressive values that have influenced generations.

They specialize in the precision harmonies and infectious rhythms reminiscent of the great girl groups of the 30's, 40's and 50's combining choreography and audience interaction to made an entertaining show for all ages.
Much of our work takes place before the event even starts. Our methods are to actively consult with our clients to ensure that they receive the right entertainment for their event. Once we find the right entertainment we facilitate a series of communications, which begins with a minimum of one face-to-face meeting with the client, the entertainer, and us if possible. Lines of communication in the form of phone calls and emails are always open up till the moment of the event.
Together we found so much in common, our love of music, singing and especially the barbershop sound. We all started singing as tiny tots and each have had a mother and/or grandmother as our musical mentor. Encouraged by our families to sing and play instruments, some of us, namely Kim and Tomi, were coerced into attending a Sweet Adelines event. It wasn't long before Kim found herself singing in a quartet, The Sugar Sounds, with her Mom and two close friends. It was only the beginning of a long love affair.
Our 60-plus singers range in age from 20 to 70-something and come from all walks of life. We are always on the lookout for new members, so if you love to sing, and are ready to work and play hard, check us out some Monday night! We also have a daytime division, VivaVoce, for singers who do not want to participate in competition.

In the beginning of 2010, a new quartet blew on to the scene from the Dixie District. Their voices were so well blended that they instantly created A Strong Breeze...but since this wouldn't catch your eye in a concert program, we quickly called it A Mighty Wind...and a name was born! A Mighty Wind created a storm when they not only qualified for international in their very 1st performance, but also earned the highest qualifying score of any quartet in the Dixie District.

During its 25 years of existence, Acappella has quietly gone about building a reputation of unparalleled excellence as the premier all-vocal group of the Christian music industry. CCM Update perhaps defined them best as "four-charming, thoughtful artists - these four talented gents are 'the franchise'." Part of this success is due to their compelling on-stage presence in well over 100 concerts a year. They have encountered sell-out crowds all over the United States, Canada, Brazil, Europe, Australia, South Africa, China, Jamaica, as well as the French West Indies.
Millions of people worldwide have been exposed to the unique music of Acappella through national television appearances, and by hearing them as the "voice" of Sony Camcorder commercials. Most Acappella fans, however, know them from albums that have won them the reputation for "superb quality".

Acapella Vocal Band (AVB) was a vocal group put together by Keith Lancaster in 1986 to augment the vocal group Acapella.(1) AVB's popularity and ministry quickly grew, prompting Lancaster to launch AVB as a full-time touring group in 1988. AVB went through various lineup and stylistic changes before disbanding in 2000.
In addition to their early duties as Acappella's opening act and augmentation group, AVB performed and recorded as an independent ensemble. Many of their recordings, which included Give Me Light(1987) and Steppin' On A Cloud (1988), were later re-released on a CD titled The Early Years. In June 1988, with Acappella's expansion to a quartet, AVB branched off to tour on their own under the auspices of Acappella Ministries. Both groups underwent a shift in musical style during this period. Whereas previously, they had covered traditional hymns, praise songs and contemporary Christian pop music, both Acappella and AVB now recorded and performed primarily original music, much of which was composed by Lancaster. Acappella forged ahead with an adult contemporary sound while AVB targeted the youth market.

In the increasingly popular world of a cappella singing groups, Accent has carved out its own niche. Inspired by the wizardly jazz harmonies of TAKE 6 and, before them, The Hi-Lo's, the six singers of Accent, all of them accomplished arrangers and instrumentalists in their own right, are taking their love of close-harmony jazz singing - the denser and more intricate the better - as far as it can go.
We are four friends with a passion for a cappella music who love singing and performing in the barbershop style. As members of Sweet Adelines International (SAI), our repertoire includes arrangements from a variety of musical genres including turn of the century to contemporary pop and country. AxC initially formed in 2012, and replaced a tenor and baritone in 2016 with two new members, after which we earned our first medal, placing 4th in SAI's North Atlantic Region 1 out of 23 quartets. Our musical experience outside of the barbershop realm include formal musical training, performance in folk and classic rock bands, leading worship, and singing in church choirs. Collectively, we have more than 75 years of a cappella experience and enjoy sharing our art form with audiences of all types, performing at civic and community events, shows, and private parties. For more information, check out our Facebook page at @AccidentalCharmQuartet, or contact us directly via email at kimberly_petersen@yahoo.com. We'd love to entertain and charm your audience "on purpose."
