Founded in 1995, The Quire is a not for profit chorus for gay, lesbian, bisexual & transgender persons & allies, interested in promoting excellence through choral music.
With the vision of building global harmony through performance and education, Quire Cleveland is dedicated to exploring, preserving, and breathing new life into nine centuries of extraordinary choral music.
Quire Cleveland is a professional early music vocal ensemble established in 2008 to explore the vast and timeless repertoire of choral music over the last nine centuries. Under the artistic direction of Jay White, Quire Cleveland makes life more harmonious by introducing audiences to choral music not heard in the modern era.
Quire Cleveland plays a unique and vital role in the cultural landscape of Northeastern Ohio. We are the only professional a cappella vocal ensemble in the area that specializes in earlier repertoires.
The ensemble is made up of outstanding local musicians, trained at leading conservatories and colleges. Our singers are highly skilled performers of choral music, with a particular knowledge of medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque music; a number of our singers have completed specialized advanced degrees in this field. While our singers come from a range of backgrounds and have diverse musical passions and professional lives, our greatest strength as an ensemble is in presenting unaccompanied vocal music from the Renaissance.
A constituent group of the Eastport Arts Center, Quoddy Voices is a community chorus committed to providing singers of all experience levels the opportunity to work together to learn and present quality music from the many choral traditions. We strive to enrich the cultural life of our community by expanding the awareness and appreciation of choral music. Our programs have included classics of the choral repertoire, contemporary works (both "serious" and "light") and pieces from cultures around the world.
Quoddy Voices was formed in 2014 by a dedicated group of singers hailing from a number of area towns, from Calais to Machias to Campobello. New members are welcome, regardless of experience level; no auditions are required. We present two programs each year. Join us, and enjoy making music with a wonderful group of people!
Quodlibet is a small Renaissance choral ensemble that practices and performs a cappella. Their official mission is to provide educational and learning experiences that will benefit musicians, composers, the general public, and others interested in the secular and sacred musical art forms of the Renaissance period. As such, they focus on Renaissance music but also branch out into other periods, including modern compositions commissioned by the group, and perhaps with piano accompaniment.
Stunning overtones in intricate arrangements powered veteran quartet Quorum to victory in the 2022 International Quartet Contest presented by the Barbershop Harmony Society. With the win, bass Gary Lewis became the first singer in the 85-year history of the Society to win gold in three different voice parts. He previously won as bari of Max Q (2007) and tenor of Platinum (2000). Lead singer Chris Vaughn picked up his second gold medal, previously winning with Gotcha! in 2004.

Founded in 2019, the Radix Women's Vocal Ensemble sings a monthly medieval evensong service at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Portland, OR, and presents regular concert performances in the Portland Metro Area.
We take inspiration from our name, Radix: meaning "root" in Latin. The medieval plainchant and polyphony forming the core of our repertoire connects us and our audience to the ancient origins of the Western Classical choral tradition. As artists, we seek to understand the core meaning of the music we perform, and we aim to sing with clarity, authenticity, gratitude, and above all, joy.

RainShadow is an auditioned chorale that performs primarily classical choral repertoire. Formed by a small group of choral musicians in 1997, it has grown to become an ensemble of the Olympic Peninsula's finest singers.
RainShadow has been led artistically since 2004 by director Rebecca Rottsolk and accompanied by pianist Lisa Lanza. In recent years the group has performed large works such as the Mozart Requiem, featuring an expanded chorus and substantial orchestra (2010), and chamber chorale repertoire such as Handel's Dixit Dominus, featuring a chamber chorus and smaller orchestra (2009). In addition RainShadow has performed with other choral groups in concert, for example Seattle's gospel choir "The Sound of the Northwest" in 2007.
Occasionally members of the chorale collaborate in temporary groupings for the purpose of performing for special events: in June of 2008, the RainShadow women's ensemble "Penumbra" was formed to participate in "Women Sing!" an Olympic Peninsula Women's Choral Festival. In December 2009 and again in 2010, Penumbra has subsequently performed two short holiday programs for the American Association of University Women.
Each boy involved with the Raleigh Boychoir devotes numerous hours over weeks and years to help sustain the choral tradition of boychoir singing. In return he is provided with a rich, unique, and unforgettable experience which will remain an integral part of him throughout his life. Through the musical training and choral experiences, he develops an appreciation of a wide range of choral literature. He gains self-confidence and poise. He learns how to meet demands - musical and otherwise. He learns how to be a leader as well as how to be a worker in a closely integrated group. He acquires self-discipline and self-respect. He knows that what he does is of real musical excellence as well as knowing that what he does is contributing to the community through the arts.
We are an intergenerational community singing group whose mission is to enrich and inspire our lives in our community and beyond through fun, friendship and song! We perform for retirement homes, hospitals, clubs and organizations and community events.
The Randolph Singers began in 1968 when the local PTA wanted to sponsor a Broadway show to raise funds. Three people were chosen to co-chair this event and they approached H. Walton Alderfer, a retired choral director, to direct the music. For its inaugural presentation, the team selected Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Pirates of Penzance." The production was performed in the spring of 1968 at a very neglected and run-down Chandler Music Hall.
As with any organization of such long standing, the mission of the Randolph Singers has adapted to the evolution of the group itself, its community as a whole, and the large demographic shifts happening across the state of Vermont. The core values of the organization have remained consistent: to provide an opportunity for all individuals who have a love of singing to find their voices, and an opportunity to share and develop their talent. No auditions are required, nor are any particular musical achievements, only a love of music and singing. This approach has provided the membership the opportunity for personal enjoyment and improvement of music and performance. Now, in its fifth decade, the Randolph Singers is enriching the lives of yet another generation of musicians from across Central Vermont and providing new and exciting music to the Central Vermont area
Formed in November of 1997. Founders Joe Antonioli and John Hadden had worked together in preceeding years, John recording and producing several recordings for the UVM Top Cats of which Joe was the Musical Director. Both boys were aching to start up a professional group, so, when the time was ripe, they did! True to its name, RA found its musicians in a rather random way--through want ads in local Burlington, Vermont papers and via word of mouth. We think we lucked-out, finding us some very fine musicians!

The Rapscallions, formed just four years earlier by four Bowling Green State University students, amazed the barbershop world when they won the 1984 international quartet championship in St. Louis. The quartet, in fact, placed in the top ten internationally each of the three years they competed: 9th in 1982, 6th in '83, and first in 1984. Tenor Dave Smotzer, lead Dave Wallace, bari Tim Frye, and bass Jeff Oxley formed the quartet in 1980 while working summer jobs in Cedar Point, Ohio to earn money to return to Bowling Green U.
Ray Charles is the stage name of Charles Raymond Offenberg (born September 13, 1918, in Chicago, Illinois), an American musician, songwriter, and vocal conductor. He is best known for a series of easy listening record albums which he produced in the 1950s and 1960s as the Ray Charles Singers. This vocal group also sang backup on most of the recordings of Perry Como from 1950 to 1987, and Charles and his singers also appeared with Como in his live performances and on television. The Ray Charles Singers (with Charles featured prominently as lead male vocalist) sang the theme song to the television series Three's Company ("Come and Knock on Our Door"). He is sometimes known humorously as "The Other Ray Charles" to distinguish him from the great soul musician of the same name.
Ray Conniff was born on November 6, 1916, in Attleboro, Massachusetts. Ray was exposed to music at an early age, his father was the leader/trombonist of the local Jewelry City Band and his mother played the piano. As a junior in Attleboro High School, Ray and some of his buddies decided to start a dance orchestra. Taking some musical tips from his father, Ray started practicing trombone and wound up playing first trombone for the band. It was for this group that Ray did his first arrangement, his fellow musicians loved his interpretation of "Sweet Georgia Brown."
Ray survived in the music business for over 65 years, he recorded over 100 albums and sold over 70 million albums, cassettes and CD's. He was the proud recipient of a Grammy Award for his recording of "Somewhere My Love", two Grammy nominations, over 10 gold albums, 2 platinum albums ("Somewhere My Love" and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas"), CBS Records-Best Selling Artist for 1962 Award and countless international awards. On 12th October 2002 Ray Conniff passed away in San Diego.
The Razzcals Quartet formed in 1996. They are all members of Sweet Adelines, International. The Reading Choral Society is one of America's oldest musical ensembles, and from its earliest days has pursued performances characterized by vocal excellence and musical distinction. Under its first music director, German-trained Edward A. Berg, the Society flourished, in part from Berg's personal connections to the musical leaders of the day, particularly his friendship with Theodore Thomas, the most dynamic and foresighted orchestral conductor of the nineteenth century. Berg's enlightened direction and his mission-to perform great choral masterworks, without ignoring contemporary composers-has guided the Society since its founding. Berg and his successors performed the major choral/orchestral repertory (Messiah, The Creation, and Elijah were particularly popular), often accompanied by the New York Philharmonic Club, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and similar groups. The Society, like its many sister choruses across the country in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, brought musical stars and quality repertory to the Reading community, long before orchestras usurped that role in the public's perception. In its first half-century, the Society performed with such vocal stars such as baritone Nelson Eddy, and Metropolitan opera regulars Margaret Harshaw, William Hargrave, Julius Huehn, Wellington Ezekiel, and many others.

This Los Angeles-based vocal jazz group has been singing together since 2003, and has developed a loyal and enthusiastic following for its unique A Cappella style and lively personality. The group's sound has been described as "compelling," "mesmerizing," and "a cocktail for the ears!" The foursome, who describe themselves as "self-confessed chord freaks", share a passion for "dangerously close harmonies" and "songs that can melt the heart!" A powerful combination indeed!

When the Regents won the international quartet championship at Kansas City's 1974 contest, it may have seemed to some that they had an easy road to the gold. It was their fifth international contest, and they had placed third on two previous tries, in 1972 and '73.
But collectively tenor Harry Williamson, lead Joe Mazzone, bari Ron Knickerbocker and bass Hal Kauffman had logged 44 years of experience in nearly 25 different quartets. They lived in four different (albeit small and neighboring) states. And they comprised a quartet that had evolved through four editions since it was formed in the mid-1960s.
