takes its name from a 10th century Moorish woman, who was a poet, philosopher, and musician, symbolically representing women's creativity and vision throughout time. The group was founded by its Artistic Director, Susan Robbins in 1979, with the idea of exploring and performing music and dance which reflect women's often undocumented creative contributions to their cultures. For the past 29 years, they have taken audiences throughout North America and Europe on inspiring and celebratory musical journeys, weaving together the songs, dances and instrumental music of the world's cultures, especially as handed down through the artistic traditions of women.
Their repertoire of ancient melodies and contemporary tunes is performed a cappella and with a vast array of instruments including guitar, dumbek, accordion, oud, naqqara, clarinet and double bass. Their music is drawn from the divergent cultural expressions of the Mediterranean, the Balkans, the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia and South America. Libana's music and dance go directly to the heart, inspiring audiences with wonder in the commonality of the global community.

The Lincoln Choral Artists, formerly the Lincoln Civic Choir, (LCC) celebrates its 45th season with the 2024-2025 concert series. We are an auditioned, adult community choir of approximately thirty singers from Lincoln and surrounding communities. Our mission is to serve the community by providing an excellent musical experience for our audiences and members.
The LCA performs three to four concerts per year, under the direction of Mr. Paul Robinson.

Founded in 1946, the Continentals are proud to be the Lincoln, NE chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. The Continentals host a variety of performances each year, including their annual Spring and Christmas shows, singing valentines, sporting events, and church services.
If you like to sing, join the Lincoln Festival Chorus. If you would like to help young musicians along the way, we have an educational fund and scholarship fund which need support. If you would like to serve on our board we would love to hear from you. If you would like to be a volunteer and help with the many tasks involved during the preparation and presentation of any event we welcome your interest.
The Lincolnaire Chorus always strives to grow, improve, and achieve. Our chorus members are hard-working, prepared, dedicated, and never finished, because they are always searching for ways to elevate their craft and take the chorus to new heights.
We seek to find meaning in our music and endeavor to choose music that inspires and speaks to us. We value open, honest, and transparent perspectives in the chorus, and each member is encouraged to be their own unique self. We celebrate diversity and promote inclusion. We don't apologize for who we are and always represent ourselves truthfully to our audience and our community.
We share a deep emotional connection to music: we sing because it makes us happy, we are passionate about music and the role it plays in our lives, we choose to express ourselves artistically because we want to share our stories with others in a way that leaves them changed. We take pride and joy in our work and accomplishments, and this brings us together all the more.
LBCC's music program provides an opportunity to learn, grow, and engage. You'll develop the common knowledge that all musicians use to speak about and perform music as a professional. You'll grow in your art toward the musician you wish to become. You'll gain the knowledge needed to engage the community around you in music, so that your talent is shared with those who need it most.

Little Anthony and the Imperials were one of the finest vocal groups to emerge from the talent-rich New York scene. Moreover, they enjoyed unusual longevity for an act of that type, having hits in both the doo-wop Fifties and the soul-music Sixties. They outlasted their peers by virtue of "Little Anthony" Gourdine's powerful, beseeching vocals and the consummate professionalism of the Imperials, who mastered a broad range of material and knew how to work a stage.
It all started in Brooklyn, where Gourdine and friends grew up in the throes of the vocal-group craze. His first groups were called the Duponts (after the chemical company) and the Chesters. The latter group got signed to music-biz impresario George Gouldner's End Records. Wanting a name more regal than the Chesters, the label rechristened them the Imperials. It was Alan Freed, then an influential New York disc jockey and concert promoter, who christened Gourdine "Little Anthony," for the youthful quality in his voice. Both Freed and fellow deejay/promoter Murray Kaufman (a.k.a. "Murray the K") liked Little Anthony and the Imperials and helped launch their career with airplay and concert bookings.
Our chorus of a cappella singers is part of the International Barbershop Harmony society and we are associated with a district of that society called the Central States District. Our chapter was 'chartered' the Barbershop Harmony Society in 1977 as the Quad County Chorus, later renamed the Grainbelters Chorus and then the Little Apple Barbershop Chorus when Manhattan adopted the logo and little apple theme.
We have held a spring concert every year since our chartering starting at the Manhattan High School auditorium, then in McCain Auditorium on the KSU campus and most recently in Forum Hall of the K-State Student Union. We currently have about 70 members from not only Manhattan but several communities in Northeast Kansas. Our members range from students to retired and are most have no professional musical training.
Chartered in May 1983, Little River over the years has been honored to receive Small Chorus 1st-3rd place medals and Most Improved Chorus Awards at our annual Regional Competition. Under the leadership of Betsy Fowler, a Certified front line Director, members enjoy the education, harmony, friendships, and performances as a chapter of this awesome organization.

ln 1965 the choir of St. Maurice Church of Livonia was disbanded. The members, however, shared a love of choral music and continued singing in members' homes. One of the members heard that the Livonia Department of Parks and Recreation was considering sponsoring a mixed singing group. The director of the department was approached with the proposal that the former choir could form the nucleus of that group. A public notice announcing the formation of the group and inviting new members was published. Thus, the Livonia Civic Chorus, as it came to be known, was born.
The music of the chorus ranges from simple unison numbers to challenging, intricate harmonies. But more than just vocal talent has been exhibited when costumes, sets, choreography, creative writing and organizational skills are considered. Artistic talent, creativity and a dedicated work ethic are essential to the continued success of the Chorus.
The Chorus prepares for two main Concerts a year. The first rehearsal session begins in September as the Chorus prepares for a winter holiday show performed in December. The second rehearsal session begins in January to prepare for the spring show in May.
In addition, there are about 15 performances each season in the Livonia community known as "Outreach Performances" or the "Musical Interlude for Seniors."
The Chorale was formed in 1991 with founding director David Hensley, Choral Music Instructor at Lompoc High School. The spring concert is normally a classical masterwork, an Americana theme, or a Broadway theme. Each concert involves two performances (Friday and Saturday evenings.) Performance venues have been the Lompoc Civic Auditorium, the Lompoc First United Methodist Church, the Cultural Hall of the Lompoc Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the First Southern Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, the Lompoc Grange Hall, the Community Life Center at the Trinity Church of the Nazarene, and the Lompoc High School Gymnasium.
