"A humbled heart God will not forsake." This tender setting for guitar, flute, and keyboard is a welcomed complement to lectionary settings of Ps. 51 for penance, reconciliation, and Sundays in Lent. The rich SATB underscore to verse 3 is uplifting and lovely. For cantor or soloist
Composer: Luke Mayernik
Wonderfully introspective, this piece will be useful in times of communal prayer and worship. The harmonies are interesting, but not difficult. The words, based on Ignatius' "Prayer for Generosity," are composed in a way that allows for clarity and comprehension. Appropriate just about any time of year, there is a third verse provided that is especially germane to Lent. For cantor or soloist.Ê
Composer: Chris de Silva
The tune and setting of this anthem immediately recall the stateliness and comfort of an "old" hymn. Springing from Hebrews 12:1-3, the piece is quite useful for All Saints and any time of remembrance of those who have gone before us in faith. Don't be surprised if you feel a chill or are a bit overwhelmed when singing this "new old classic."
Composer: Marty Haugen
"'A House of Prayer' is a meditation on the diverse images of church found in the Hebrew Bible (especially Isaiah 56:7), the New Testament (especially 1 Peter 2:5), and contemporary theological reflection (especially recent words of Pope Francis). It is well suited for use at the dedication of a new church, the anniversary of a church, or whenever images of church emerge in the Lectionary." -Tony Alonso

Commissioned by Chicago's Old Saint Patrick's Church for Easter 2012, "Acts of God" joyfully uplifts the Scripture-based text to a cohesive, substantial piece for your choir and pianist. Perfect for Easter Sunday, this piece can be performed at any joyous occasion or special celebration.
Composer: Rory Cooney
The verse lyrics are based on a popular text from Ecclesiastes, and the refrain reminds us we are holy and God's beloved. Consider it for times of contemplating God's love for us (say, Thanksgiving Day), or perhaps when members of your community are in need of some assurance, some soothing balm, in their lives. For cantor or soloist.

Jaunty and joyous, this original psalm setting from Chris de Silva will put a smile on everyone's face. The music conveys the assurance that Jesus is reigning over all; why, therefore, wouldn't we want to shout with joy and sing "Alleluia"? The choir can hum or "oo" on the ostinato refrain while the verses are sung by a soloist. For cantor or soloist.
Composer: Chris de Silva
This piece is appropriate for a variety of settings, especially funerals, prayer in the style of Taize, liturgies for peace or healing, or reconciliation services. The refrain alone would make an effective response to a litany of healing or prayers of intercession.
Composer: Carol Browning
Chris de Silva's setting offers an alternative to settings of Psalm 98 that are more majestic. The use of flute on the C instrument part will enhance the tranquility of the laid-back melody. This is proof that a psalm of praise can be understated but still display a calm confidence in the saving power of God.For one or two cantors or soloists.
Composer: Chris de Silva
A light gospel sound inhabits this offering that begins in an easy-going manner with a solo or the men's voices. Before long, the choir joins a robust refrain featuring a dynamic-but not impossibly high-soprano descant. Certainly a consideration for the smaller (SAB) choir that has a lot of passion to share with the assembly.

The composer sets this piece up with an original tune on the text "Alleluia! Alleluia! Cantate Jesu Christe." The tune is then repeated overlaid with "Alleluia! Sing to Jesus" to hyfrydol. The third time through these two melodies and texts are joined by a third, alleluia no. 1, "Alleluia, alleluia, give thanks to the risen Lord," all with extremely great effect.More music for small choirs
Arranger: Monica Bonasso
A chorale-like 3-stanza hymn in simple triple meter that has the unique feature of presenting the choice of totally different piano and organ accompaniments. The former yields a more contemporary feel, while the latter results in a classic hymn version. A trumpet part is published separately.
Composer: Tony Alonso
An encouraging text and upbeat tempo offer images of hope for this unpredictable journey called life. A theme of trust in the redeeming love of God makes this a suitable song for reconciliation or for any moments when comfort is needed. For cantor or soloist.Ê

Adam M. L. Tice presents us with a text identifying the myriad ways we hear the voice of God. Sally Ann Morris' careful treatment of Adam's text allows us to meditate on his words. Having made (and continuing to make) significant contributions in their individual fields, Morris and Tice are establishing themselves as noteworthy collaborators dedicated to enhancing congregational song.B-flat Clarinet or Alto Saxophone

While actually a solo with choir or small ensemble, this lovely and lyrical song of healing and hope proclaims the recurring and comforting phrase "don't be afraid"-words we all need to sing and hear these days! Try this piece using a male and female soloist for increased variety. For cantor or soloist.

Invite your choir to sink into the lush four-part beauty of the beloved Anima Christi text. The rich textures provided by the marriage of the choir and the piano accompaniment help to accentuate and bring the text to life. For SATB choir and assembly, but presentation possibilities are numerous.
Composer: Jeanne Cotter
Tony Alonso has fashioned a pairing of text and music that will become a regular part of your Communion ritual. The 2-part writing is ideal for small choirs. Parts for flute and oboe are included in the octavo.Ê

In this setting of "Ave Maria" Lawton pairs a Latin refrain with English verses. The congregation-friendly refrain, thoughtful lyrics, soulful melody, and exquisite arrangement make this a piece you will want to use for all of your Marian feast days. For cantor or soloist.

The text of "Be Merciful," drawn from Luke, reminds us to be merciful to others as God is merciful to us; the verses provide concrete examples. Alternate choral settings for the verses (two-part and "backup") offer some variety. The relaxed tone suggests natural use as a prelude or even at the preparation of gifts, post-Communion, or other times of reflection. Originally written for the Jubilee Year of Mercy, this song will be appropriate as long as the need for mercy remains.
Composer: Marty Haugen
