In the tradition of her Songs of the World series that has been so successful, Judy Herrington has created a marvelous arrangement of this Bolivian lullaby. A familiar Christmas classic, this arrangement begins with a chant-like opening. The carol emerges in a strong statement from the treble voices. The TB voices soon add responsive punctuations, then the parts move into a canon. The writing is simple but solid, easily learned and sounds impressive. Great for high school. Easy to medium in difficulty.
Arranger: J. Edmund Hughes
Virtual choirs have sprung up all over the place as choirs find ways to stay connected during this pandemic. High School choral director, Chris Rust, was inspired to write about why we sing and the message has caught on. Choirs cannot wait to be singing next to each other again, and this will be a favorite then as it is for the virtual choir.
Composer: Christoper Rust
This is a fantastic festival piece. The antiphonal nature of the piece begs for creative use of the performance space. The Latin words taken from the Psalms are joyful and general, the parts are easily learned, and the piece works as a great opener or closer for high school choirs. Judith Herrington is a seasoned and respected teacher and that is evidenced in this great selection. Easy to Medium.

This early American folk song is a lively number with percussive hand claps thrown in. Released in 2009 for treble choirs or all ages, it became a best-seller for high school and college choirs and is now available for mixed ensembles.

The use of Tibetan Bells and Wind Chimes provides an ethereal atmosphere that is echoed in the music and text. Originally written for treble choir, this new voicing is most effective. The description of the surrounding nature and stars becomes sound in this beautiful composition. Its festival use has already become popular for any season.

Eric Saari from North Dakota State University has captured Walt Whitman's text about sunset with vivid 21st century hues. Bursts of color unfold in words and sound creating pictures in your mind. High school and college choirs will enjoy this piece from a new composer.

Sometimes simplicity says it best. The lovely Welsh tune Suo-Gan has been arranged with intelligent reserve by veteran Judy Herrington and new-comer Kyle Haugen. Texts are provided in both English and Welsh with pronunciation guides. An excellent choice for high school choirs.
Arranger: Kyle Haugen
Following the success of the treble voice setting released last year is this new voicing. Though you bind it to the blowing wind and you buckle it to the moon, the night will slip away like a sorrow or a tune. The poetry of Eleanor Farjeon is so evocative, and Judith Herrington knows just how to set it for mixed voices to sing. This is a beautiful song for concert or festival use.
