Walton Music was established in 1950 by Norman Luboff as a publishing house for Luboff's choral arrangements and compositions. Today, Walton serves the choral community by publishing works by noted composers such as Eric Whitacre and Ola Gjeilo, and promoting both new composition and the preservation of classics. Gunilla Luboff (spouse of the late Norman Luboff) worked for many years as the owner and editor of Walton Music. During Gunilla's tenure, she maintained and expanded the Walton catalog, helping it to become one of the leading choral catalogs in the United States and a well-respected catalog across the world. Originally from Sweden, Gunilla helped to establish Walton as a champion of Scandinavian choral music, making Scandinavian works more readily available in the United States.

The music and text of Crossing the Bar evoke maritime themes of wind, waves, water and surf. The accompaniment represents the currents - both physical and emotional - that spirit us through mortality and onward. While several settings of this well-loved Tennyson text exist, the composer has brought the poem to new life through this powerful new setting. Duration: ca. 3:35
Composer: Daniel J. Hall
Here is a new men's setting, following the enthusiastic reception of the treble choir version. The progressive style is well suited for the medieval melody from Piae Cantiones (1582). The markings are Strong and Biting, Rhythmic, with Joy and Accented, Dancing, showing the various moods of this piece. Available separately: SSA divisi, TTBB divisi, Percussion (score and parts). Duration: ca. 4:15.
Arranger: Michael Engelhardt
