Ruth has arranged the "prequel" to her very popular "America the Beautiful", skillfully setting "America (My Country 'Tis of Thee)" for three-part mixed chorus and optional baritone. While it is magnificent on its own, an alternate ending that enables a segue into her arrangement of "America the Beautiful" creates a stirring patriotic medley. Duration: 2:55

Ruth's setting of this beloved patriotic song has a dignity and a beauty of its own, keeping well within the capabilities of the young musician. Tight harmonies enhance the familiar melody without extremes of range or vocal demands. The optional baritone part on the three-part mixed edition offers additional performance options. And, the setting builds just as it should to a stirring finish.

During the telling of this classic carol about a king who gives to the poor, Ruth Schram uses solo sections and word painting to help the audience experience cold winds and conversations between the king and his loyal page. This is a wonderful holiday selection for a developing mixed choir and is also available for TB Voices (BL672).

Here's a fresh, exciting arrangement of the traditional spiritual with an intensely moving, driving beat. When the lyrics say, "...then Joshua commanded the children to shout..." there's a dramatic crescendo and accelerando on the spoken word "shout" that is extremely effective! Fun vocal glissandi-as the walls come tumbling down-add the finishing touch! Highly recommended!

Nice, long phrases and flowing parallel thirds in the upper voices give this piece a feeling of momentum that will inspire your students to sing their best! Kyrie Eleison is also an excellent teaching piece, with many dynamic contrasts and opportunities for expressive singing. This is lovely, singable music of substance for developing choirs!

Loaded with "scary" fun, Mister Zombie's Jazz Club is a novelty piece that offers the opportunity to introduce jazz, swing, and the concept of scat singing to developing singers. In addition to these musical opportunities, its message is one of cooperation and acceptance. While the string bass is optional, it will add even more "cool" to the performance.
