Acappella Company : Gospel Long play Another two-for-one re-release featuring 18 songs. The Acappella Company has created a dynasty, and their recordings are always exceptionally well produced and arranged. When they interpret a gospel tune or spiritual, however, they absolutely shine. The versatility of the stylistic embellishments that they routinely employ is amazing, and it's these nuances - a bar of rhythmic counterpoint here, a half step swoop into a repeating phrase there - that bring such lasting satisfaction. 'Old Time Gospel' is exactly that, while 'Stamp of Approval' is lifted straight from the Philly school of '70's soul; 'There Is No Excuse' is an midtempo raver that is part O'Jays and a little bit urban too. Lots of goodies here. Songlist: Inspiration, Old Time Gospel, Stamp of Approval, Jesus in the U.S.A., Hold On, Giving Me Joy, I Know Love, We Are One, There Is No Excuse, Two Hearts, Soul Doctor, His Grace Is True, Let Me Show You Me, No More Wasted Years, Go Out Quickly, Education, Old Time Gospel, Right Way Various Arrangers : 15 Disney Vocal Duets A selection of 15 original duets from classic through contemporary Disney films and Broadway stage musicals. From Ephesians 4:4-6, this highly syncopated piece is especially ideal for contemporary ensembles that include a drum set. The solid SATB texture of the refrain drives with high energy. That texture continues as backup to the solo verses. A piano interlude leads to a key change for the last refrain, which concludes in a repeat and fade in the final four bars.

The melody is what grabs us first and the wonderful piano writing is a close second. Familiar hymn texts ring with new music. Blest be the tie begins the piece celebrating that we are all one in the body of the Lord. A resilient statement for adult church choirs.
