A wonderful, up-tempo setting of the Psalm 118 text. Obviously ideal as an Easter gathering song, there's no reason why it can't be used on many other occasions when you want to invite the congregation to join in a celebration of life-they will rejoice and be glad in it!

This day is so important that composers continually pour out new settings and interpretations of its psalm of the day. This one rocks! It has the feel of classic rock with driving eighth notes and repeated syncopation in the accompaniment. The refrain is scored for SATB voices in major, with verses for solo in minor on the same tonic. The final two refrains each modulate a step higher creating musical exuberance and joy.Instrument parts are optional
Composer: Martin Barry
Drawing on Psalm 118 and the Gospel of John, Chris de Silva has written a rhythmic and truly joyful song of praise to the Maker and Source of all. The refrain is easily learned and quickly memorized, enabling the congregation's full participation.

"This Is the Day" is an impassioned piece set to a text by Baha'u'llah, founder of the Baha'i faith. The text is exemplary of this faith, which seeks to unite the world in peace and understanding, and the title suggests that the time to do this is upon us. This selection is being published with the blessing of the leaders of this faith, and it is an excellent piece for the mature, large choir.
