This is an arrangement, by Zalmen Mlotek, for mixed chorus, of a Yiddish Chanukah song written in 1921, by Solomon Golub and Abraham Reisen. The text describes a father chanting the blessings over the Chanukah Menorah.

Bridging the sound between the Old English carols and the High Lonesome sound of the Appalachians, this beautiful carol with words by Isaac Watts is a delicate addition to any Christmas concert. The violin obbligato reminds us of the fiddle so present in the Appalachian music community while the a cappella choral setting allows the choir to realize the quiet and sensitive time while the baby sleeps.
Arranger: David Chase
First, setting a more modern and poetic translation of the Ave Maria followed by a traditional setting of this text, this is music for advanced choirs. We have come to expect Mr. Cutter's music to be transparent and sensitive and this does not disappoint.
Composer: William Cutter
Salamone Rossi (1570-1630) was a Jewish musician at the court of Duke Vincenzo Gonzaga and a contemporary of Monteverdi, but his musical style foreshadows the chorale style yet to come. This beautiful setting of the evening prayer is perfect for the concert hall or the sacred service.

Commissioned by a consortium of choruses including Chanticleer, The Dale Warland Singers, and The Phoenix Bach Choir, this beautiful a cappella setting of Psalm 86 is a delicate powerhouse. In the text, the Psalmist pleads for Divine favor, in spite of his spiritual poverty. A simple and clear pronunciation guide is included along with a poetic translation making the Hebrew text both accessible and understandable.

Jonathan Tunick has long been regarded as Broadway's preeminent orchestrator and he has been Stephen Sondheim's primary orchestrator from the beginning of his career. He is also a skilled and versatile composer and here he sets the famous Vachel Lindsay poem suggesting a children's pantomime dance. This is a fun, light and descriptive song for SATB that will delight singers and audience.

Written for conductor Judith Clurman, David Ludwig sets the poem found on The Statue of Liberty in a moving and passionate style. The sentiment of welcome that poet Lazarus - herself an immigrant - conveys is sensitive and at the same time powerful and David has skillfully captured this emotion. Beginning in a somber, chant-like unison, it opens to harmony at the most famous line I lift my lamp, beside the Golden Door repeating this line in a crescendo to the end. It was performed at the 2013 Inauguration Prayer Service at St. John's Church in Washington, D.C.

This beautiful text from Ovid's Metamorphoses speaks of the creatures named for the time they first appear: vespertilians (bats). Not scary or to be feared, rather, here they slip into shadows with translucent wings that sustain their flight with diminished bodies and the tiniest of voices. The composer has crafted a soundscape that paints this most beautiful of images of the much maligned nocturnal flyer.
Composer: Jocelyn Hagen
The Song of Songs-- Rise up my love, my fair one, and come away-- has been set to music many times. Here is an a cappella setting for mixed choir featuring both homophonic and polyphonic writing along with shifting key changes that will surprise the best musicians.
Composer: Joseph Rubinstein
