A clever text by Mary Ann Hoberman meets the creative talents of Neil Ginsberg. Using castanets to emulate the beetle and a jazzy swing style in the piano, the story is told with fun melodies interweaving as though the beetles are at play. (First in a set of three.)
Composer: Neil Ginsberg
Neil Ginsberg approaches this Mary Ann Hoberman text with mock seriousness. Although much of the piece is written for unison voices, toward the end, a second part enters with its own tune, the piano becomes melodramatic, and the story concludes with an inquisitive punch line. Great fun! (Second in a set of three.)
Composer: Neil Ginsberg
Neil Ginsberg creates a playful mood in this insect-inspired selection. The singers eagerly tell the story while the piano depicts a dancing cricket. One part overlaps the other, often in imitation, in this enjoyable setting of Mary Ann Hoberman's text. (Third in a set of three.)

Andrea Ramsey brings to life Paul Fleischman's highly creative poem of cicadas singing, humming, buzzing, droning, booming, and sending forth their joyful noise in this playful arrangement. Clever and fun, this piece is a true delight that will brighten any program.
Composer: Andrea Ramsey
In two parts except for one cadence, this exquisite piece is perfect for treble singers of all ages. The imaginative text tells of the "celestial child" amongst the stars, and a constantly moving piano part offers support and contrast to the flowing melodies of the singers.
Composer: Jacob J. Narverud
Elizabeth Browning's poem credits the beauty of nature with chasing away our ills, This happy, sprightly piece would be a delight in a spring program.
Composer: Andrea Ramsey
From Bach's "Christmas Oratorio," this beautiful lullaby may be sung in German or English. There is but one sentence of text, and much of the piece is in unison. The elegant piece provides a striking contrast for a seasonal program, or any time of the year.
Composer: Johann S Bach; Tandy Reussner
An uplifting text is set to charming music in this wonderful piece with melodic interest in all parts and conservative ranges. Ramsey's sensitive and skillful writing makes for tender moments that truly evoke the meaning of the text.
Composer: Andrea Ramsey
This charming offering features an original text inspired by the poetry of Haywood County elementary students and a terrific melody that is first presented alone and then with a descant. Appropriate for various levels, young singers will especially adore this piece.
Composer: Tom Shelton
The text comes to spirited life as this gospel-style setting lauds the value of a song to improve the quality of our lives. Chord symbols are included for the addition of instruments or improvisation by the accompanist. This is a song that needs to be sung!
Composer: Andrea Ramsey
A delightfully provocative piece for children, Andrea Ramsey has created a masterful setting of this text by Mark Twain. The music changes with each short section, moving from ragtime to a waltz and finally to the blues. Great fun for all!
