How is it possible to keep a spiritual favorite rooted in the past but sound so new? In this arena, Stacey Gibbs is the master. This energetic arrangement was premiered at the ACDA National Convention in 2015 under the direction of Jefferson Johnson. A great concert closer, this one will bring the house down. For high school and college male choirs. Medium difficulty.
Arranger: Stacey V. Gibbs
This powerfully descriptive piece by Paul Doust uses programmatic musical elements that mirror the lyrics. The text is an anonymous, Gaelic blessing with poetic words and images. Paul's setting is fresh and metaphoric and very satisfying.˙Good for advanced high school, college and communtiy ensembles. Medium to difficult.
Composer: Paul Doust
The mixed voices setting was released years ago and became a strong selling anthem. This SSAA setting displays K. Lee Scott's adaptability. His command of vocal writing is excellent, and his arranging style is never overdone. A refined reserve to his technique make this an elegant spiritual setting for high school, college and church treble choirs.
Arranger: K. Lee Scott
This worshipful a cappella setting of a familiar text beckons us to grasp the truth of Chrit's call to come to Him and find rest. Prayerfully penned with rich choral writing, this reverent reminder truly depicts the love that God holds for His saints. Easy to medium.
Composer: Mark Blankenship
William Billings is widely recognized as the father of American choral music. With elegant simplicity he followed the lead of his European contemporaries and imparted his own unique style. This Easter declaration bravely states the victorious words of Christ's resurrection without accompaniment, yet the strength of the anthem rings easily and powerfully.
Composer: William Billings
The most famous American Christmas carol family is undisputably the Burt family. The carols of Bates and Alfred Burt and the Christmas carol cards they sent are now part of our hymnody and folklore. Abbie Burt Betinis is the great granddaughter of Bates and grand niece of Alfred, and is continuing the tradition with freshness and craftsmanship. A noted and often commissioned composer in her own right, she brings skill and talent to this unique genre in a way no one else could. The verse and chorus form reminds us of an English carol, but the text, taken most often from other Burt family members, are very American. Enjoy this energetic carol with sacred text by John Harris Burt
Composer: Abbie Betinis
Commissioned by Jefferson Johnson and now part of his male chorus series, here is another excellent arrangement by Stacey V. Gibbs. An ideal choice for fine high school or college men's choirs.

How great our joy to find a William Hall arrangement of this classic Christmas Hymn that had never been published. Dr. Hall's experienced understanding of the voice beams through with this superb edition. Excellent for high school, college and church choirs.
Arranger: William Hall
What a delight to see the American Christmas carol traditional made famous by Alfred Burt find a new lineage through his great niece, Abbie Burt Betinis. She continues the intelligent and creative applications Alfred paved before her, but also brings an undeniable newness to the process. As Alfred often did, she uses the texts of Bates Burt (her grandfather) and sets them to music.
Composer: Abbie Betinis
The familiar words of Charles Wesley are treated to a thoughtful, new musical fitting by respected musician, Ken Berg. Beginning in E minor with treble voices in an unadorned unison the voices soon break into parts, eventually opening into 4 parts. Then the men join the chorus on the theme, eventually letting the women rest and move into a 4-part portion of their own. All resume together and end quietly in E major. Medium difficulty for more advanced church choirs.
Composer: Ken Berg
This beautiful a cappella arrangement of the Phos Hilaron prayer of light is written by the current Executive Director of the American Choral Directors Association, Tim Sharp. The piece is especially poignant for Evening Prayer or Epiphany settings. Also includes an additional antiphon, Lux Christi, by Jubal House composer, Edwin M. Willmington.
Composer: Timothy Sharp
Here is a beautiful setting of the classic text from Richard Burchard. Opening with just the chant line the piece soon broadens like a stream into a river of sound. Richard's signature progressions, ripe with lush suspensions, cascade into warm pools of resolution. This is a most satisfying piece for college and community choirs.

Beautiful music and text combine to create a sensitive message. An SAB arrangement is available, especially geared to suit the needs of the smaller ensemble.

From the Elena Sharkova series comes an excellent setting of the Poem by John Keats. Composer Karuna Sangam, a former student of Elena's, sets the text in 7/8, which gives the entire piece a lift. Keeping an English folk song flavor, Sangam's tune carries the poet's message to fret not, knowing that more good will come. For trebel choirs of all ages, easy to medium in difficulty.
Composer: Karuna Sangam
Using a lovely 13th century French melody, master musical craftsman Tom Fettke has created a beautiful chorale. Ken Bible's text takes us into the manger scene to celebrate Christ's birth. Frist it is as if the lamb is speaking to the Child, then the song itself, and finally the Child calling to us. Simple and dignified, this hymn-like piece is warm and inviting.
