Known for his innate ability to compose for the male changing voice, A Cowboy's Life can be sung TTB or TB without taking away from the musical experience. The addition of the second tenor part will give the chorus more sonority. With poetry glamorizing the life of a cowboy, it is a programming must.

Here's a fresh, exciting arrangement of the traditional spiritual with an intensely moving, driving beat. When the lyrics say, "...then Joshua commanded the children to shout..." there's a dramatic crescendo and accelerando on the spoken word "shout" that is extremely effective! Tim Winebrenner's boisterous yet accessible TB arrangement of an American civil war song of the same title affords developing male ensembles the opportunity to tell an exciting story while learning many musical concepts. The optional descant provides for a small portion of three-part harmony. Offered a cappella, there is an optional piano accompaniment to suit the needs of the ensemble. Appropriate for festival, a cappella or accompanied, with or without descant.

Loaded with "scary" fun, Mister Zombie's Jazz Club is a novelty piece that offers the opportunity to introduce jazz, swing, and the concept of scat singing to developing singers. Drawing on a rich history of American folk songs that originate with cowboys, Lon Beery has combined "I Ride an Old Paint" with "Good-bye, Old Paint," both songs about a cowboy and his horse.
