"Telephone" is a song recorded by American singer Lady Gaga for her third EP, The Fame Monster (2009). The song features American singer Beyoncé. The song was written by Gaga, Rodney Jerkins, LaShawn Daniels, Lazonate Franklin and Beyoncé. Inspired by her fear of suffocation, Gaga explained that the lyrics preferring relaxing on the dance floor to answering her lover's phone call are a metaphor, the phone calling her representing the fear of not having worked hard enough to succeed. Originally, Gaga wrote the song for Britney Spears, who recorded a demo. Musically, "Telephone" consists of an expanded bridge, verse-rap and a sampled voice of an operator announcing that the phone line is unreachable. Beyoncé appears in the middle of the song, singing the verses in a rapid-fire way, accompanied by double beats.
Release Date: 2009
One of Lady Gaga's megahits, performed in a perfect accappella cover by Slovenian XL vocal group Perpetuum Jazzile.

This follow-up features the hits Bad Romance and Telephone plus 6 others: Alejandro - Dance in the Dark - Monster - So Happy I Could Die - Speechless - Teeth. Songlist: Monster, Speechless, Bad Romance, Telephone, Alejandro, Dance In The Dark, So Happy I Could Die, Teeth Zap Mama : Seven Marie Daulne is Zap Mama. She's gone on an exploratory odyssey on Seven. The rhythms are just as compelling and the vocals are just as inventive, but generally not quite as complex as those to which we are accustomed, for this recording features a variety of band arrangements to complement the vocals. For example, the driving rhythm and guitar work of the very first tune could be from King Sunny Ade, at least up until the last when the tune segues to a bit of the reggae "No Man No Cry." The next song starts with a bass and vocal section entirely reminiscent of the a cappella Zap Mama. Then the sultry saxophone comes in and you realize that there will be no predicting what's to come, except that it will be one fascinating album, which truly deserves the 'world' categorization. Though there are no a cappella tracks there is no mistaking the unique vocal arrangements of Zap Mama.
