Originally recorded by Moonglows, the group of which Fuqua was a member and Freed was the manager. The Moonglows' version reached number 1 on the Billboard R&B chart and number 20 on the Billboard Juke Box chart.[2] After it became known that Freed often insisted on songwriter credits for songs by bands he promoted (which partially led to his downfall in a payola investigation years later), Fuqua noted that Freed had in fact contributed to the songwriting for "Sincerely," and thus his claim to a songwriting credit in this case was legitimate.
The best-selling version was a pop cover recorded by the McGuire Sisters, which entered the charts in 1954 and reached number one the next year. It was eventually certified as a gold record.

Phillips are A Moment's Pleasure, and they sing polished, smooth, deep-bassed, close-harmony a cappella street corner doo-wop. Formed in 1982, all the group members have paid their dues (dues-wop?) big time, and it shows. 15 classic songs, from 'What's Your Name,' 'Farewell My Love,' 'Sitting In the Park' and 'Save the Last Dance for Me,' to 'Come Go with Me,' 'So Fine,' 'Sincerely' and 'Don't Leave Me Baby' - it's all great doo-wop with more of a 60s flavor without losing the vintage R&B 1950's sound! And what hits they were - what can you say about a song like "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," other than that they should have given the Andrews Sisters heavy gold medals for helping win World War II with it? And "Beat Me Daddy Eight to the Bar," one of the most quintessential and definitive songs of the Swing era. If you're looking for songs that define the glamorous, innocent romanticism of the 1950s, wouldn't the McGuire's "Sincerely," "Sugartime," "Something's Got to Give" and "May You Always" be at or near the top of your list? Ten hits (all band accompanied): "Well All Right (Tonight's the Night)," "Bei Mir Bist Du Schoen," "I'll Be With You In Apple Blossom Time," "Muskrat Ramble" - these songs were huge, and they're all here for you to remember and enjoy! Songlist: Sincerely, Sugartime, Somethings Gotta Give, May You Always, Beat Me Daddy Eight To The Bar, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Well All Right, Bei Mir Bist Du Schoen, I'll Be With You In Apple Blossom Time, Muskrat Ramble Delmonicos : Sing Love Ballads The Delmonicos were originally formed in Manhattan in 1959. In their early years they performed in clubs such as the Copacabana, Peppermint Lounge and Camelot. In 1963 they recorded a couple of 45's and enjoyed considerable local success singing in the style of the classic 1950's NYC groups. They reunited in 1986 to perform for the United In Group Harmony Association's 10th year celebration and have continued to perform since that reunion. The current lineup features three of the original members and, recently, a band to enhance their performance package. You will hear the unmistakable bass of Gary Knight and the original Mr. Delmonico himself, Joe Cariati, with his stunning leads and soaring falsettos. Take a journey back into the world of the Dubs, The Platters, The Spaniels, Flamingos and more! Songlist: This to Me Is Love, Only You (And You Alone), Stardust, A Lovely Way to Spend an Evening, Soltaire, Last Night I Dreamed, The Vow, The Things I Love, Heaven on Earth, The Masquerade Is Over, There Is No Greater Love, Could This Be Magic, Beside My Love, Why Do You Have to Go, At Night, Sincerely, Is There a Love For Me, Embraceable You Fabulous Delacardos : Flat Top, Sock Hop, Doo Wop 'Hotter than a drive-in on a July night, smoother than a pocketful of jello... Here are The Fabulous Delacardos' That's what it says right here on the notes! We've never had a pocket full of jello, ourselves. In 1981 for a 20th class reunion of one of the members, the five men and one woman decided to recreate the music they loved as they grew up. They sing a New York style with a distinctly southern twist for they are from Tennessee. As an aside, the fine woman's voice you will hear belongs to Christy Little who ran for a Juvenile Court Judge in 1998.The 28 tunes are those that any one who went to high school in the late fifties or early sixties will have to remember fondly, or else turn in your Baby Boomer ID. Songlist: One Fine Day, Sixteen Candles, I Go To Pieces, Stagger Lee, Love Potion #9, All I Have To Do Is Dream, Silhouettes, Dedicated To The One I Love, Sh-Boom, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, So In Love, Come Go With Me, Be My Baby, Blue Moon, Cab Driver, Runaround Sue, Rockin' Robin, The Wanderer, Goodnight, Sweetheart, Goodnight, In The Still Of The Night, Hearbreak Hotel, What's Your Name, Sincerely, Sixteen Tons, Da Doo Ron Ron, Under the Boardwalk, Sea Of Love, Rock & Roll Is Here To Stay Magic Touch : Sincerely - A Cappella Starlight Sessions Vol. 3 There are some doo-wop groups from whom the clean, smooth, crisp sound just seems to flow like a street corner water fountain, like it did with the original groups who burst onto the airwaves in the 1950s and 60s. The 5-man Magic Touch is one of those groups, and 'Sincerely' just goes to show how appealing and timeless the combination of great arranging, soaring harmonies and classic material can be. Some favorites: 'Ain't No Woman Like The One I Love,' 'Just My Imagination,' 'Rama Lama Ding Dong,' 'Twilight Time,' Bobby Darin's 'Dream Lover' (OK, we know it was a hit for Del Shannon), 'In The Still of the Night' and the title tune, but we have to say that these are 19 of the best doo-wop tunes we've ever heard! Songlist: Tonight I Fell In Love, This Is My Love, Ain't No Woman (Like One I Got), I Was Such A Fool, No Says My Heart, Morse Code Of Love, Please Say You Want Me, So Much In Love, Just My Imagination, Rama Lama Ding Dong, Twilight Time, Sincerely, To Be Love (Forever), Rockin Robin, Dream Lover, Could This Be Magic, Heart Of Saturday Night, Any Day Now, In The Still Of The Night The McGuire Sisters : Greatest Hits The three sisters McGuire indeed have a unity of blend hard to match among the many famous sibling groups. Their popularity was immense, and their cover versions of songs such as "Sincerely" and "Goodnight, Sweetheart, Goodnight," (both originally sung by the Moonglows and Spaniels, respectively) placed higher on the charts than those of their progenitors; the McGuire's sound and image was considered more acceptable to white audiences. While some of the songs, like "He," don't hold up as well over time - the lyrics and orchestrations seem a bit precious - the vivacious delivery is so unabashed, the apparently innate tunefulness so exact, and the arrangements so creative that "Muskrat Ramble" and "Sugartime" leave no doubt as to why the McGuires were loved by so many. Songlist: Sincerely, Something's Gotta Give, HE, Goodnight, Sweetheart, Goodnight, Picnic, Muskrat Ramble, Ev'ry Day Of My Life, Sugartime, It May Sound Silly, Christmas Alphabet, May You Always, Just For Old Time's Sake The McGuire Sisters : Sincerely The McGuire Sisters were stars of radio and television and were the most popular sister group of the 1950's. This huge 59 track 2CD set compilation covers many of the McGuire sisters' biggest hits. The majority of the McGuire Sisters' hit recordings are included here, together with several titles that are debuting on CD. Some tracks have not been available since their original single release dates. 'Goodnight, Sweetheart, Goodnight' was the first of their recordings to change into the Top Ten in 1954, followed by the spirited 'Muskrat Ramble' four months later. The following year brought even greater record sales. Their recording of the rhythm-and-blues-oriented 'Sincerely' shot to #1 on the charts, becoming one of their greatest hits, earning gold records for all three sisters. This collection is not to miss! Songlist: Something's Gotta Give, Heavenly Feeling, Not As A Stranger, Muscrat Ramble, One Two Three, Tip Toe Through The Tulips, In The Alps, Be good To Me, Weary Blues, Cuddle Up A Little Closer Lovey Mine, Frosty The Snowman, Thank You Day, Blue Skies, Goodnight, Sweetheart, Goodnight, Missing, Picking Sweethearts, Hey Mr. CottonPicker, Tell Us Where The Godimes Are, All By Myself, Melody Of Love, Open Your Heart, Hearts Of Stone, The Naughty Lady Of Shady, Sometimes I'm Happy, Give Me Your Heart For Christmas, Christmas Alphabet, Doesn't Anybody Love Me, Delilah Jones, June Night, Pcnic, and more The Moonglows : 20th Century Masters They just don't make 'em like this anymore. The emotion wrung from every note, the grit and rawness. The Moonglows were a seminal vocal group in the development of the sound between the vocal jazz and jubilee groups to the then ermerging doo wop sound. Smooth harmonies on this enjoyable recording.
