Rock 'n' Roll was here to stay, and performing greats like Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Bill Haley and the Comets, Buddy Holly took the world by storm! What a great decade of fun music, rockin' radio and hep dancing. This one-of-a-kind collection of rock 'n' roll favorites includes fresh, new arrangements and rockin' orchestrations by Alan Billingsley. The PVG Score offers fully accompanied songs for piano and voice, with vocal parts in the Singer Edition. These songs will 'hit the mark' with rock 'n' rollers of all ages! 12 songs. Available: Piano/Vocal/Guitar Edition, Singer Edition, Singer Edition 10-Pak, Performance/Accompaniment CD. For all ages! Songlist: At The Hop, Rockin' Robin, Blue Suede Shoes, La Bamba, Chantilly Lace, Get A Job, Hound Dog, Jailhouse Rock, Jambalaya (On The Bayou), Rock And Roll Is Here To Stay, Rock Around The Clock, Splish Splash Various Arrangers : For Women Only This close harmony version of the Simon and Garfunkel classic "The Sound Of Silence" works well for beginning groups looking for interesting material, or advanced groups interested in a beautiful mood piece allowing for emotional interpretation. Mixing close harmony with arpeggiated textures, this arrangement allows each voice a turn with the solo line, and plenty of opportunity for rubato and expressive dynamics. This upbeat finger snappin' pop version of the doo-wop classic " Rockin' Robin" will add some spark (and tweet) to your repertoire without being too difficult. The solo moves from part to part, allowing every singer a chance in the spotlight. "Goodbye Old Paint" is a delightful western classic using modern harmonies and approach and "I Don't Know Why I Love You Like I Do" is a ballad of the 40's in block harmonies. The tempo is medium. "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" is one of the many great Ellington songs, arranged here for treble voices. The singers can feel free to alter the scat if it works better that way. "Silent All These Years". Tori Amos broke onto the music scene with this introspective ballad, and this arrangement captures all of the original's delicate moodiness. The background voices weave smooth patterns and ring warm chords. This is an excellent showcase for an expressive soloist (can either be a soprano or alto 1). SSSAA a cappella (4 part with solo). Songlist: Rockin' Robin, The Sound Of Silence, Goodbye Old Paint, I Don't Know Why I Love You Like I Do, Silent All These Years Various Arrangers : Men's Jazz Vol. 2 Not to be confused with the sensational A Cappella band with the same name, 'Rockapella' is an original a cappella piece with a slow, almost Baroque opening that builds into a high-intensity groove. Features soloist and doo-wop bass line for added energy. A lot of fun for audience and performers! The lush and comical a cappella arrangement of Tom Lehrer's famous parody, 'I Hold Your Hand in Mine,' is faithful to the original in length and tone. Harmonically, it recalls Gene Puerling with a nod to barbershop. The ranges are well within the limits of a good men's jazz group. Levine added four words after the last chord which should get a big laugh if the audience isn't already in hysterics. 'Rockin Robin' was made popular by Michael Jackson and the Jackson Five. This arrangement, written for four-part men's ensemble with a tenor solo, has tight harmonies and abrupt tempo changes that are sure to keep the audience's attention. Songlist: Rockapella, Rockin' Robin, I Hold Your Hand In Mine Michael Jackson : The Essential Michael Jackson P/V/G arrangements for 38 of Michael Jackson's best-loved songs. Titles: I Want You Back - ABC - The Love You Save - Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground) - Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough - Rock with You - The Girl Is Mine - Billie Jean - Beat It - Thriller - Bad - Smooth Criminal - many more. Their repertoire includes 5 decades of popular music: 40's Swing, 50's Rock and Roll, 60's and 70's R&B and 80's and 90's Pop. "Doo Wop Gold," their fifth excellent CD, includes 12 classic, beautifully-arranged Doo Wop hits that would certainly rank in our top 20 of all time: "Remember When/I Wonder Why," "Sh-Boom," "I Only Have Eyes For You," "Blue Moon," "Rockin' Robin," "Come Go With Me," "Lonely Teardrops," "In The Still Of The Night," "Morse Code Of Love," "Get A Job" and "Trickle Trickle;" finishing with a tasty "The Lion Sleeps Tonight." Consummate entertainers whether they are performing their award-winning show at a family concert, large scale music festival or corporate party, "Gold" is ample proof that the Allstars are still one of the best Doo Wop groups we've ever had the pleasure to hear. Songlist: Remember Then - I Wonder Why, Sh-Boom, I Only Have Eyes for You, Blue Moon, Rockin' Robin, Come Go With Me, Lonely Teardrops, In the Still of the Night, Morse Code of Love, Get A Job, Trickle Trickle, The Lion Sleeps Tonight Ac Rock : Guaranteed To Satisfy Fourteen songs with hilarious studio outtakes and interesting links make this AC Rock's best CD yet. AC Rock does not wait to get your attention on Guaranteed To Satisfy. The exciting opener, "Drive My Car" will leap out of your speakers and get you into the groove. High pitched vocals from tenor Paul Iams and the deep bass of Mark MacLean augment each other perfectly on another one of our favorites, "Rocket 2 U" which shows the groups astounding range. Also included on this remarkable album are new arrangements of Brian Setzer's "Stray Cat Strut," Steve Miller's "Abracadabra" and The Cars' "You Might Think." As the title of the album states, this album is guaranteed to satisfy. Songlist: Drive My Car, What's Your Name, You Won't See Me, You Might Think, No Particular Place To Go, Rocket 2 U, Crazy Little Thing, Rockin' Robin, Stray Cat Strut, Abracadabra, Desperado, Runaway, Ice Cream Man The Alley Cats : Strike 3 If butter melts in your mouth, the Alley Cats arrangement of 'Smoke Gets In Your Eyes' will melt in your mind! It is beautiful, smooth, and just melts away the bands of every day tensions from around the heart. Then you'll just have to swoon to one of the sweetest versions of 'Only You' which you will ever hear. Thank goodness they launch into a upbeat 'Blue Moon' or you would end up in a emotional puddle on the floor! If you ever were touched by the romantic songs of the fifties and sixties (and a sound alike or two from the seventies), this recording is for you. Frankly, we've never heard a better recording of era's music. The voices are beautiful, the slides into falsetto breaks is seamless, and the arrangements keep true to the originals while filling out the instrumental parts with vocals. The Alley Cats have presented all of the greatest songs of an era, 'Silhouettes,' 'Twilight Time,' 'Earth Angel,' 'Stand By Me,' and more, sixteen cuts in all. The tempos and arrangements vary so you never become complacent and let a tune slide by out of predictability, but rather have to pay attention to each sweet riff. We gush, we enthuse, and we have only this to add, 'yip yip yip yip, mum mum mum mum, get a job!' With your first paycheck be sure to get the Alley Cats, 'Strike 32.' Songlist: Smoke Gets In Your Eyes, Only You (And You Alone), Blue Moon, So In Love, Rockin' Robin, Silhouettes, Twilight Time, Stand By Me, Get A Job, Earth Angel, I Really Love You, Remember, Little Bitty Pretty One, At the Hop / Jump Jive 'n Wail, I Wonder Why, You Belong To Me The Alley Cats : The Doo Wop Drive-in Live While entertaining thousands as Disneyland's house band, (and performing a killer "Showcase Concert" at the West Coast Summit), the four-man Alley Cats, "America's Premier Doo-Wop Group," released three great studio recordings and gained many fans in concert. "Drive-In" puts us in the audience of an electric, hilarious live performance, at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center in 2003. 19 songs, like "Sh Boom," The Temptations' "My Girl," Del Shannon's "Runaround Sue," "La Bamba," "Sixteen Candles," "Don't Be Cruel," "Poison Ivy," "Stand By Me" and more. But the big fun of the Alley Cats' stage act is more than just top-drawer Doo-Wop--these guys are stone entertainers whose patter and interactions with the audience (and a great Neil Diamond impersonation) are a scream. "America's Premier Doo-Wop Group?" We'll buy that! Songlist: Intro - Our Friend Lee Marshall, At the Hop / Jump Jive and Wail, Come Go With Me, I Wonder Why, What's Your Name, Sh Boom, Rockin' Robin, My Girl, Little Bitty Pretty One, Runaround Sue, La Bamba, Sixteen Candles, Don't Be Cruel, Poison Ivy, Stand By Me, Book of Love, Get A Job, Rama Lama Ding Dong, Goodnight, Sweetheart, Goodnight Fabulous Delacardos : Flat Top, Sock Hop, Doo Wop 'Hotter than a drive-in on a July night, smoother than a pocketful of jello... Here are The Fabulous Delacardos' That's what it says right here on the notes! We've never had a pocket full of jello, ourselves. In 1981 for a 20th class reunion of one of the members, the five men and one woman decided to recreate the music they loved as they grew up. They sing a New York style with a distinctly southern twist for they are from Tennessee. As an aside, the fine woman's voice you will hear belongs to Christy Little who ran for a Juvenile Court Judge in 1998.The 28 tunes are those that any one who went to high school in the late fifties or early sixties will have to remember fondly, or else turn in your Baby Boomer ID. This recording contains straight ahead a cappella covers with no production embellishments, sung to you by the quartet who placed first in the 1997 Northern Harmony, A Canadian A Cappella Celebration. Now even though these songs are recorded just the way you could hear them performed on stage, the vocal kazoo and trumpet chorus on "Rockin' Robin does provide a distinctive, playful, embellishment. You'll find "Good Lovin'," "Blue Moon," "For The Longest Time," "Under The Boardwalk" (nice gargle effect there), "Duke Of Earl," "Sesame Street" and more, eighteen tunes in all. Go Canada! Jazz, tight harmonies that take on a close harmony sound, almost, and touches of classical music are all incorporated in the covers found in the midst of three sweet original tunes, the title track "So Many Ways" and two spirit movers "The Light" and "Gift Of Song."
