Creativity and inventiveness describe this arrangement of the 18th-century. English a gallery carol. Each of the five stanzas receives a different treatment that, strung together, form a satisfying and logical whole. A carol not generally sung by folks gathered around the piano, it is first-rate choral repertoire.
