The Buzz are a Sweet Adeline supergroup! Comprised of Nancy Fuhrman and bass Jeannie Froelich from City Lights along with baritone Karen Breidert of Jubilation and lead Debbie Connelly of Showtime they were crowned again in Indianapolis as the 2004 International Quartet Champions! These four former Queens of Harmony have come together to create a powerhouse of sound. 'Hotter than a drive-in on a July night, smoother than a pocketful of jello... Here are The Fabulous Delacardos' That's what it says right here on the notes!We've never had a pocket full of jello, ourselves. In 1981 for a 20th class reunion of one of the members, the five men and one woman decided to recreate the music they loved as they grew up. They sing a New York style with a distinctly southern twist for they are from Tennessee. As an aside, the fine woman's voice you will hear belongs to Christy Little who ran for a Juvenile Court Judge in 1998.The 28 tunes are those that any one who went to high school in the late fifties or early sixties will have to remember fondly, or else turn in your Baby Boomer ID.

Third in 2005, second in 2006 surely this fabulous quartet are the next heirs apparent to the Queens of Harmony crowns. And how worthy they are is clearly demonstrated on this fine recording as the ladies are in top form as they sing some classic barbershop songs along with some vintage jazz gems. Made up of members of the Melodeers and the Choral-Aires Sweet Adeline choruses the quartet members Lynda, Joan, Heather and Cori fine individual voices blend in great harmony with a spirit that shows why we love female barbershop singing so much. This recording should be in all fans collections.

Brittany, Tenor, age 14; Mary, Bass, age 15; Mia, Lead, age 14 and Caitlin, Baritone, age 17 are lovely, casually dressed and very young-looking (2 of them still have braces) in a photograph on the front of the one-page liner notes of their debut CD, "Moments to Remember." On the photo on the back, they look much more mature, nicely coifed and wearing matching gowns, earrings and, oh yeah, Sweet Adelines medals around their necks. On July 22nd Sweet Adelines held their 2005 "Rising Star Quartet Contest," for groups age 25 or younger, in Greenville, South Carolina, and Sunnyvale, CA's UnderAge took the Gold! "Moments" is an impressive first CD, with 11 excellent covers, some favorites: "Whatever Happened to the Old Songs," "Mister Sandman," "This Little Piggy Went to Market," the title tune, "One Fine Day," "Java Jive," "Sentimental Journey" and the final cut, Billy Joel's "And So It Goes." We think it's a very good move on Sweet Adelines' part to encourage younger singers, and we expect great things of UnderAge!

In this live CD Marcoux (Mahr-coo) Corner, their 3rd, prove that yes, in fact, more than one outstanding male Contemporary quartet hails from the home of the Blenders, Fargo, ND. 12 well-chosen pop cover, with funny banter segues and interactions with the audience - all adds up to big fun! Lennon/McCartney's "Ob, La, Di," "M.T.A.," "You're Sixteen," the Monkees' "I'm A Believer," the completely silly "Dolphin Boy," "One Fine Day," Jimmy Buffet's "Margaritaville," the manic, tongue-twisting "Johnny Saucepan," "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," Van Morrison's "Moondance" and "The Sunshine Medley" are all wonderful. It's the next best thing to being in the audience for this very funny, highly entertaining show.

Jackson, Paul, Kim, Joe, Gary, Dan and Rick have at least two things in common: they're all wonderful Doo-Wop singers, and they're earning a lot of fans in Arizona! "Burgers, Shakes Doo-Wop," contains 16 pretty straightforward covers of Doo-Wop standards like Bob Gaudio's "Sherry," Brian Wilson's "Little Deuce Coupe," Fred Parris' "In the Still of the Night," Hart & Rodgers' "Blue Moon," "The Lion Sleeps Tonight..." this album might have been called "Greatest Doo-Wop Hits of All Time!" These 7 guys (MC6 plus 1?) absolutely nail every song, and the additional voices add more richness and depth to the harmonies. Other favorites are "Up on the Roof" and "One Fine Day" by Carole King and Gerry Goffin; "Runaround Sue" by Ernie Maresca and Dion Dimucci, Al Yankovic's very silly "Since You've Been Gone," Del Shannon's "I Go to Pieces," Billy Joel's "The Longest Time" and the album closes with Harmony Sweeps audience favorite "Goodnight Sweetheart" by James Hudson and Calvin Carter. MC6 clearly loves Doo-Wop and entertaining us, and, like the burgers and shakes we remember, it's all big fun and delicious!

"May You Always" is an all-accompanied "best of" compilation of hits by sisters Christine, Dorothy and Phyllis of Middletown, Ohio, from the albums "May You Always" and "Sugartime," released on Coral Records in 1959 and 1960. The sisters grew up in Miamisburg, OH, where their mother was an ordained minister of the First Church of Christ. They sang in church in their teen years, then in military bases and church functions, auditioned on the Arthur Godfrey show, where they were a resident attraction for seven years. Exposure on the Kate Smith Show led to a record contract with Decca/Brunswick/Coral. There are 28 songs here, most of them well-known 50s pop hits: "Since You Went Away to School," "Volare," "Ding Dong," "Summer Dreams," "Sweetie Pie," "Peace," "I'll Think of You," "One Fine Day," "Banana Split," "Forgive Me," "Kiss Them For Me," "Lovers Lullaby," "The Last Dance," "Anniversary Song," "I Love You" and "Shuffle Off to Buffalo." The sisters' voices are perfectly matched harmonically, and the songs as inspirational, funny, silly and schmaltzy as you can imagine! Scotti Brothers released this compilation of tunes in 1997. The Nylons had recorded them while on that label and all have been released on other cds. On it are arrangements which vary from live performance sung unaccompanied by even their patented percussion track ("One Fine Day," "Up On The Roof" and "Kiss Him Goodbye") to the instrumentally enhanced tracks found on the cd Because ("The Time Of The Season" and "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?"). If you aren't a collector this release gives you a fine survey of their mid-careeer period.

Of all the contemporary a cappella groups The Nylons have always put on one of the best shows, in great part because of their background in live theater. So this DVD of a historic concert shot in Japan in 1986 is a real treat and a must for all Nylons fans. The high production values shows the guys at their high-energy best and features Marc Connors, Claude Morrison, Paul Cooper and Arnold Robinson. As well as the thirteen song concert footage there are six bonus music videos that the group has shot over the years which helps makes this a most enjoyable watch!
