"Moondance" is a popular song written by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison and is the title song on his 1970 album Moondance.
Morrison did not release the song as a single until November 1977, seven and a half years after the album was released. It reached the Billboard Hot 100, charting at #92. The single's B-side, "Cold Wind in August", had been released in the same year, on his latest album at the time, A Period of Transition.

Various Arrangers : Men's Romance This is a nice, simple treatment of the Van Morrison favorite "Moondance". A solo in the second tenor range is true to the melody with some interesting chord subsititutions in the harmony parts. Beginning with a duet between solo and bass, there is plenty of room for some subtle, improvised vocal percussion from the other two voices. A bass part that doesn't get too low makes this a great choice for a young male quartet. An easy, yet effective arrangement of the all time Rodgers and Hart ballad "You Are Too Beautiful", that gives your men's section a chance to really shine! Here's a snappy, toe-tapping rendition of " Let's Get Away From It All". It starts right in on the chorus and cruises along to a big ending. Straight-ahead, very fun to sing, and makes a great show opener. "I've Got A Crush On You" starts with a rubato introduction into a slow-ish swing groove for the chorus. The verse is in the middle and is sung rubato with "oo's" behind the lead. Back to tempo second time around with a half-step modulation into the last'A' with a ritard into the ending. Songlist: Moondance, You Are Too Beautiful, Let's Get Away From It All Michael Buble : Songbook All 13 songs from the major label debut by Michael Buble, a swingin' young Vancouver vocalist and major new talent! He found worldwide commercial success with his 2005 album It's Time, and his 2007 album Call Me Irresponsible was an even bigger success, reaching number one on the Canadian album chart, the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, the Australian ARIA Albums Chart and the European charts. Buble has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide. Jeff, Wayne , T.J. and Larry bring us their first, self-titled CD of 10 tunes. Favorites are Van Morrison's "Moondance," "Try A Little Tenderness," "Don't Be A Baby, Baby," "Tonight" from West Side Story," the Doo-Wop classic "In The Still of the Night," the Righteous Brothers' "My Girl," The Skyliners' "Since I Don't Have You" and the Isley Brothers' "Shout!" We have to say that 'Round Midnight's rich, velvety harmonies are particularly fine on a classic Barbershop song like "Sing Me That Song Again," but every one of these cuts is a winner, and we love to see a top Barbershop groups push the envelope with their repertoire. An impressive debut recording from talented, fast-rising 'Round Midnight! Songlist: Moondance, Anytime At All, Try a Little Tenderness, Don't Be A Baby, Baby, Sing Me That Song Again, Tonight (From "West Side Story"), In the Still of the Night, My Girl, Since I Don't Have You, Shout! Conn Artists : First Offence The Conn Artists is a seven-man a cappella Contemporary/Jazz/Doo-wop ensemble that performs throughout Connecticut ("Conn Artists," get it?), and "First Offense" is their debut CD. Included are: "Ain't No Sunshine," "The Worst That Could Happen," "Dream Lover," "Better Than Anything," "I Love My Boss," "Change In My Life," Van Morrison's "Moondance," The Four Freshmen's "Blue World," "Consider Me Gone," "Ave Maria," "On And On," "Winter's Night," "Take 5," "On The Street Where You Live" and "God Bless The Child." The guys harmonize with energy and spirit, and we're hoping they commit Second and Third Offenses and end up with a lengthy record! Songlist: Ain't No Sunshine, The Worst Thing That Could Happen, Dream Lover, Better Than Anything, I Love My Boss, Change in my Life, Moondance, Blue World, Consider Me Gone, Ave Maria, On and On, Winter's Night, Take 5, On the Street Where You Live, God Bless the Child Hyannis Sound : Talk About It "Talk About It" was recorded in 1996, in the second year of the group's existence, and they have clearly grown in experience, arrangements and sheer vocal talent. Still comprised of 10 young male singers from colleges and universities all over the country, brought together and produced by Townsend Belisle. 18 songs, particularly fine are "Sister Golden Hair," the Motown hit "Ain't No Sunshine," Van Morrison's deathless "Moondance," the Doo-Wop standards "In the Still of the Night" and "Sh-Boom," "I Don't Want to set the World on Fire," Stevie Wonder's "Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing," "Lullaby," "What A Wonderful World" and "Everybody Wants to Rule the World." "Our First Time" is their self-produced debut, limited-run CD, and if it lacks at all in studio polish, it more than makes it up in spirit and the group's sheer love of singing a cappella together. Recorded in January, 2002 in Sue's Studio,Skillman, New Jersey, this CD is one of the things we most enjoy about a cappella--the fact that Patty, Lisa, Pat, Sue, Dyann & Amy can practice and put a repertoire together, do some gigs, create some fans who ask for a CD to take home, rent some studio time, and produce a very special, beautifully arranged group of songs. Included are Van Morrison's "Moondance," Cole Porter's "I've Got You Under My Skin," Shania Twain's "Honey, I'm Home,"Leon Russell's "This Masquerade," the very funny feminist hymn "Ah! Men,"Sara McLachlan's "Angel," Jonathan Larson's "Seasons of Love," "I Feel Lucky" and "Wide Open Spaces." This is a fun CD, especially for everyone who has ever dreamed of doing exactly what Key of She has done here! Songlist: Moondance, I've Got You Under My Skin, Honey, I'm Home, This masquerade, Ah! Men, Angel, Seasons of Love, I Feel Lucky, Wide Open Spaces ManSound : If It's Magic ManSound, an a cappella sextet from Kiev, Ukraine, got its start in 1994 as an idea of composer and arranger Vladimir Mikhnovetsky. The group consists of experienced professionals and it is a permanent participant of international jazz festivals and concerts. First building a Russian fan base with concerts and appearances at jazz festivals in Moscow and other cities, ManSound began touring in 1996, when the group traveled to the United States for six weeks, performing with great success in universities and evangelical churches. In February of 2000, ManSound performed at one of the biggest jazz events in the USA, the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, following the invitation of Lionel Hampton himself. They also performed in 2002 and 2003, delighting crowds of 5000 at the nightly performances. Dr. Lynn Skinner, director of The Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, called ManSound the hit of the jazz event. "Magic" has only 7 songs, but 3 are marvelous medleys, two of them of George Benson's songs and one of Stevie Wonder tunes. Besides these favorites, "They Can't Take That Away From Me," "Nature Boy," "Lullaby of Birdland and "Angel Eyes" are standouts-which includes everything on the CD. Tremendous voice control, incredible arrangements, butter-smooth blue-note harmonies, surprising tempo changes and scat breaks-it adds up to a stunning first CD by a huge, fast-rising talent in the jazz/a cappella world! Songlist: Smile Medley:, - Smile, Darn Ya, Smile, - Powder Your Face With Sunshine, Have A Little Talk With Myself, If I Had My Way, Moondance, Shenandoah, When My Sugar Walk Down the Street, Where Is Love?, Shadrack, Fare Thee Well, Love, Honey Medley:, - My Honey's Lovin Arms, - Honey That I Love So Well, You Tell Me Your Dream, Sing, Sing, Sing, Hushabye Marcoux Corner : Live In this live CD Marcoux (Mahr-coo) Corner, their 3rd, prove that yes, in fact, more than one outstanding male Contemporary quartet hails from the home of the Blenders, Fargo, ND. 12 well-chosen pop cover, with funny banter segues and interactions with the audience - all adds up to big fun! Lennon/McCartney's "Ob, La, Di," "M.T.A.," "You're Sixteen," the Monkees' "I'm A Believer," the completely silly "Dolphin Boy," "One Fine Day," Jimmy Buffet's "Margaritaville," the manic, tongue-twisting "Johnny Saucepan," "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," Van Morrison's "Moondance" and "The Sunshine Medley" are all wonderful. It's the next best thing to being in the audience for this very funny, highly entertaining show. Songlist: Ob La Di, M.T.A, You're Sixteen, Build Me Up, Buttercup, Aluminium, I'm A Believer, Garden State, Dolphin Boy, Bad Choreograhy, One Fine Day, Burro Burrow, Margaritaville, Relaxing Tapes, Johnny Saucepan, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Find Someone, Moondance, The Sunshine Medley Max Q : Discovery 'Discovery' is the inaugural CD of Max Q, a newly-formed barbershop quartet, but the subject of considerable SPEBSQSA buzz because of the amazing pedigree of the group's members. Baritone Gary Lewis was a collegiate SPEBS champion prior to winning Gold with Platinum. Tenor Greg Clancy is Associate Director, and 26-year member of the Vocal Majority. Lead Tony De Rosa and bass Jeff Oxley are two of only 13 men who have won SPEBSQSA quartet Gold twice, De Rosa with Keepsake and Platinum, Oxley with Rapscallions and Acoustix. From the first strains of 'Smile Medley,' the opening cut, the sheer vocal and harmonic power of these men is obvious, as is the quality of their arrangements. 13 tunes, some of our favorites are 'If I Had My Way,' a jazzy, blue-note rendition of Van Morrison's 'Moondance,' an intricate 'Shenandoah,' 'When My Sugar Walks Down The Street,' 'Where Is Love,' the spiritual 'Shadrack,' Tony's soaring lead on 'Fare Thee Well, Love.' 'You Tell Me Your Dream,' and a powerful 'Sing, Sing, Sing.' Joe Connelly is the only man ever to have won an amazing 3 quartet Golds, but we wouldn't be at all surprised to see De Rosa and Oxley of the new Supergroup Max Q join him at the next Internationals. Our 'Discovery?' Max Q has a truckload of talent and they know how to use it! Songlist: Smile Medley (Smile, Darn Ya, Smile / Powder Your Face With Sunshine), Have A Little Talk With Myself, If I Had My Way, Moondance, Shenandoah, When My Sugar Walk Down the Street, Where Is Love?, Shadrack, Fare Thee Well, Love, Honey Medley (My Honey's Lovin Arms / Honey That I Love So Well), You Tell Me Your Dream, Sing, Sing, Sing, Hushabye Return 2 Zero : Return 2 Zero This contemporary/jazz quartet is from Florida, where they are part of the Disney entertainment complex (performing as "Four For A Dollar"). With arrangements by members Doug Teel and Marshall Webb, their material is proven Top 40 radio fare such as "Fly Like An Eagle," "How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You" and "Turn Your Love Around," with a couple of originals in like vein. That said, the highlight of this CD is Gene Puerling's "Georgia On My Mind," the definitive arrangement, performed with stunning accuracy and taste. Their own charts frequently use substitute chords and unexpected harmonies to open up these familiar songs, infusing them with new vitality. Rhythmically, they combine punch with fluid ease, adding a soulful feel to the mix. Songlist: Return 2 Zero, Fly Like an Eagle, How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You), Steppin' Out, Happy Together, Georgia On My Mind, December 1963 (Oh What A Night), Spinning Wheel, Love Potion #9, On and On, Turn Your Love Around, Moondance, I'm Alright Sweet Adelines : Sweet Adelines Best The women of Sweet Adelines, like their male counterparts, represent the most jubilant, and essentially American, style of harmony singing of the 20th century. This best-of compilation is a long-overdue salute to the stars (and spangles!) of SAI and its spirited membership. Featuring both the rousing and upbeat - High Society's "Thank You World," Showtime's "Ya Gotta Know/I Can't Give You Anything But Love," Classic Edition's "Hit Me With A Hot Note" and the brand new Signature Sound track, "Mama's Gone Goodbye Medley," - as well as the exquisite ache of Ambiance's "Bundle of Old Love Letters," Panache's "Someone Like You" and Swing Street's "All Of My Life," this collection of studio cuts is the first of its kind. We think your ears will agree that it's also the finest! Songlist: Thank You World, Ya Gotta Know / I Can't Give You Anything But Love, I Only Have Eyes For You, All Of My Life, If I Had A Voice, I'm Dancing This Dance In The Wrong Romance, Someone Like You, Mama's Gone Goodbye Medley, Help I'm Turning Into My Parents, Keepin' Out Of Mischief Now, Hit Me With A Hot Note, Bundle Of Old Love Letters, I Wish I Had My Old Pal Back Again, Moondance, The Trolley Song, Sentimental Journey Voce : So Many Ways Five music professionals from Edmonton, Alberta are classically trained members of Voce (pronounced Voh-che). They formed in 1993 to be able to share their interpretations of popular music from the tweedeledee of "Rockin' Robin" through a "Rocky Mountain High" which has "Rivers Of Dreams" flowing through it like "Tears In Heaven". Jazz, tight harmonies that take on a close harmony sound, almost, and touches of classical music are all incorporated in the covers found in the midst of three sweet original tunes, the title track "So Many Ways" and two spirit movers "The Light" and "Gift Of Song." Barely reaching the Billboard Hot 100 when it first came out, this Van Morrison classic is now the most frequently played song when the "Belfast Cowboy" performs. The sweet choral harmonies make this a sure-fire show choir or concert winner! "Well, it's a marvelous night for a moondance . . ."
