This edition features 25 songs by George Gershwin, including: Fascinating Rhythm - How Long Has This Been Going On? - I Got Rhythm - I Loves You, Porgy - Let's Call the Whole Thing Off - Love Walked In - Nice Work If You Can Get It - 'S Wonderful - Someone to Watch over Me - Summertime - They Can't Take That Away from Me - and more. And oh, how they delivered! This is an indispensable collection for young soloists or unison singers including reproducible student pages and a fabulous foreword (with developmental exercises) by Dr. Michele Weir. Enhance the jazzy vibe with full rhythm section accompaniments on the available audio. Teach swing, scat, jazz articulations, stylizations, and more! Recommended for grades four and up Songlist: Bye Bye Blackbird, Duke's Place, Fascinating Rhythm, It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)., Jeepers Creepers, Let's Call the Whole Thing Off, Misty, Orange Colored Sky, Over the Rainbow, Straighten Up and Fly Right Growing Girls : Thank You For The Music The Growing Girls, 1989 Queens of Harmony, are from Ronninge, Sweden. First competing in International in 1988, where they placed sixth, they bounced into the top spot the following year! This 1999 release (though the songs were recorded in 1991 and 1995), takes a swipe at the pop oldies chart with Abba's "Dancing Queen," and the Beatles "With A Little Help From My Friends." Two arrangements are in their native tongue, with the balance divided between SAI stalwarts such as "Birth Of The Blues" and "That Old Quartet Of Mine," and standards such as an Andrew Sisters medley. Their blend is polished and warm, and their delivery is natural and unfazed. "Undecided" is a particularly engaging arrangement with all the "bells and whistles"! Songlist: They Didn't Believe Me, Andrew Sisters Medley, Arvid, Birth of the Blues, Undecided, Jag nu den Parlan Funnit Har, Dancing Queen, That Old Quartet Of Mine, Let's Call The Whole Thing Off, Thank You For The Music, With A Little Help From My Friends |

Here's a light, swinging arrangement of a cute George and Ira Gershwin song that's ideal for any age choir. High school groups can sink their teeth into it, middle school groups can really make music with it, and elementary groups can just have fun with it. The clever lyrics ("you say ee-ther and I say eye-ther") are the focus of this piece. Great for jazz/pop groups, too.
