It's easy to see how this talented quartet took top honors in Orlando and this well-recorded CD is a fitting tribute to their talent. Songlist: New Year Medley, Route 66, Not While I'm Around, Gonna Build A Mountain, Paper Moon, I See The Light, You're A Heavenly Thing, Straighten Up and Fly Right, Pure Imagination, Drive My Car, It's Today, Ave Maria Bling : Bling it ON Bling! began their Sweet Adelines adventure in 2009 as four friends, Dayve, Angie, Deanna and Kim, that love to ring those barbershop chords. They've earned many Regional and International titles including 2011 International 8th place and novice quartet winners, 2012 7th place quartet and finally 2012 2nd place quartet in the world! "Bling! It On!," their glittering debut CD of 12 tunes, has many favorites of ours, but we'll mention the title tune, "I've Got The World on a String," "Some Lucky Day," "Witchcraft," "Gonna Build A Mountain," "Feeling Good," and bonus live tracks from Denver 2012 "If I Give My Heart To You" and "Shanghai." Great stuff from this fast-rising, hugely talented quartet! Songlist: Bling! It On, I've Got The World on a String, Seasons of Love, Some Lucky Day, Time After Time, How Many Hearts Have You Broken?, Witchcraft, Gonna Build A Mountain, Feeling Good, Hallelujah, If I Give My Heart To You, Shanghai Happiness Emporium : Beneath The Cross II Legends in the Barbershop community, "Beneath The Cross II" was produced in the 32nd year of HE's singing together as a quartet. Enjoying each other's company and the "joy of singing songs of our Lord" has kept Bob, Rod, Rick and Jim blessed with good health. Similar to the singers, these 12 songs are rich in harmony, deep spirituality and just plain good feeling! Some favorites: "Gonna Build A Mountain," "Will There Be Any Stars In My Crown," "The First Baseball Game," "Shall We Gather At The River," "He's Gonna See You Through," the rousing "An Old Convention Song," and the final cut, "This Train/Saints Medley." Beautifully sung, inspiring stuff from one of Barbershop's Best! Songlist: Gonna Build A Mountain, In This Very Room, Will There Be Any Stars In My Crown, Here I Am Lord, The First Baseball Game, Shall We Gather At The River, Savior Again To Thy Dear Name We Raise, He's Gonna See You Through, Let Us Break Bread Together, An Old Convention Song, Into His Likeness, This Train/Saints Medley Western Continentals : Western Continentals Springing from SPEBSQSA's contests and festivals aimed at young people, Baritone Paul Graham and lead Ted Bradshaw sang with the Devilaires at Arizona State. Other veterans of high school and college quartets came in and out of the group after its formation in 1964, helping it place 8th in Boston in 1965, but dropping to 21st in 1966. Adding Tenor Al Mau and Bass Phil Foote seemed to turn the Continentals around, and the group came out of nowhere to win Silver at the Los Angeles International in 1967. In 1968 they won it all, edging out the Golden Staters. One of the clearest, strongest leads ever to step up to a Barbershop mike, Ted Bradshaw shines on everything from "By the Time I Get to Phoenix," and "The Masquerade is Over," to the classic "I Believe," and the others match him note for breathless note. Sweet, Pure, Classic; in short, Incredible! Songlist: Are you from Dixie?, Heart of a clown, If you ever fall in love, These foolish things remind me of you, My lovely one, Everything's coming up roses, By the time i get to Phoenix, Green green grass of home, Lone prairie, Down by the riverside autumn leaves, On a wornderful day like today, The boy I used to be, I've gotta be me, The masquerade is over, I'm gonna live till I die, Old....., I believe, Love is a many splendored thing, Annabel Lee, Little pal, Gonna Build a Mountain, When the Saints go Marching In |
