The Novello Choral Programme is the creation of a panel of advisors pre-eminent in the British music scene. They have been chosen for their experience in choral conducting, concert work and music education.

The Barbershop Harmony Society's International Chorus competition, held in Denver, CO in July of 2007 saw California's Westminster Chorus emerge with the gold, singing gems like "Their Hearts Were Full of Spring" and "Strike Up the Band/Everybody Step" medley, followed by Ambassadors of Harmony, here singing "They Didn't Believe Me," local favorites Sound of the Rockies, singing "Colorado, My Home," and the Northern Lights, singing "'Cross the Mason Dixon Line." But listening to top-20 finishers like Voices in Harmony sing "The Sunshine of Your Smile," The Alliance's "When It's Nighttime in Dixieland," Atlanta Vocal Project's "Shakin' The Blues Away," Vocal FX's "When My Sugar Walks Down the Street," Cambridge Chord Company's "Do You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans," and the Alexandria Harmonizers' "Happy Feet Medley," makes it clear to us what a tough decision the judges had to make!

The Conn Artists is a seven-man a cappella Contemporary/Jazz/Doo-wop ensemble that performs throughout Connecticut ("Conn Artists," get it?), and "First Offense" is their debut CD. The first two of a staggering six albums that the King Family recorded for Warner Brothers in the space of two years, these came out in early 1965, the same year their weekly ABC TV series The King Family Show was becoming a fan favorite. Their debut The King Family Show! contains many of the favorites performed by the Family on TV and plays like an episode of their series-there's even a commercial break at the mid-point by King Kids Cam & Laurette, a popular, and humorous, feature of their weekly show. And we round out this release with two more CD debuts - the Warner Brothers singles by The King Cousins originally released in 1965, the Phil Spectorish Just One Smile and girl group homage Today I'm in Love! Deluxe liner notes with a treasure trove of rarely seen photos make this a true King Family fan's delight.

Ro Sham Bo : It's Not Over   

Berkeley, CA's three man, three woman a cappella jazz ensemble Ro Sham Bo, who impressed us with a strong set at the '06 Harmony Sweeps Bay Area Regional (winning Best Original Arrangement and 2nd place overall), bring us this impressive debut CD of 12 songs. The salsa favorite "Mas Que Nada" starts the program, the brilliantly arranged "Nature Boy," the silly "Barney is the Devil," jazzy "Why Haven't I Heard From You," "Greasy Granny" and "It's Over," the bluenote, scattish "Anthopology," the Blues standard "God Bless the Child," the moody "Interlude" and the striking bluenote arrangement of "Ballgame," which was a special request that the group sang only one time, are favorites. "It's not over" is a beautifully selected, arranged and performed debut by this talented mixed Bay Area sextet!

Founded in 1977, Redhot and Blue is Yale's oldest coed a cappella group. The youthful 18-voice group has dazzled audiences from the White House to the embassies of Prague, onboard the QE II and onstage at Carnegie Hall. Fresh twists on jazz classics, Broadway showstoppers, and toe-tapping favorites of all genres fuel their entertaining and passionate performances. Sophisticated jazz standards and Broadway showtunes form the core of Redhot's repertoire, though they also sing a variety of more contemporary hits. Recipients of many CARA awards, "Yeah..." is the group's 5th CD. 19 songs, some favorites: the classic "42nd Street," Gershwin's "A Foggy Day" and "Summertime," "Fever," Mel Brooks' "When You've Got It, Flaunt It," "Scotch and Soda," Laura Nyro's "Sweet Blindness," Cole Porter's "Red, Hot and Blue," and "A Man Come Into Egypt," from the group's 25th Anniversary concert.
