"Let's Do It, Let's Fall in Love" (also known as "Let's Do It (Let's Fall in Love)" or simply "Let's Do It") is a popular song written in 1928 by Cole Porter. It was introduced in Porter's first Broadway success, the musical Paris (1928) by French chanteuse Irčne Bordoni for whom Porter had written the musical as a starring vehicle.
Bordoni's husband and Paris producer Ray Goetz convinced Porter to give Broadway another try with this show. The song was later used in the English production of Wake Up and Dream (1929)[3] and was used as the title theme music in the 1933 Hollywood movie, Grand Slam starring Loretta Young and Paul Lukas. In 1960 it was also included in the film version of Cole Porter's Can-Can.

David Blackwell / Andrew Carter (Edited by) : In the Mood In the mood is an anthology of choral arrangements of seventeen classic popular songs by great names such as Fats Waller, George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, and Richard Rogers. All the pieces are expertly arranged to suit the needs of amateur SATB groups looking for lighter popular repertoire -- school choirs, youth schoirs, or chamber choirs of any description. There's a mixture of accompanied and unaccompanied numbers, and a variety of styles: smoky blues, up-tempo sat, sentimental swing, exuberant Dixieland, sophisticated close-harmony, plu an opulent show-stopper or two like 'Somewhere over the rainbow'. Songlist: Ain't Misbehavin', Autumn Leaves, Begin the Beguine, Blue Moon, The Continental, Deep Purple, I Got Rhythm, Laura, Let's Do It (Let's Fall in Love), Over the Rainbow, She Was Beautiful, Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, Summertime, 'S Wonderful, Tea For Two, Night and Day, In the Mood Marion Linton : Cole Porter A Cappella Beginning as a waltz, "I Get A Kick Out Of You," this lively Cole Porter tune goes into 4 at the bridge. Initiated by the bass, this time change provides a good vehicle for practicing four in the space of three and vice versa. The tune is short, punctuated by rhythmic shots and ends with a bang. "Let's Do It" is impossible to sing without a smile. Humor, wit, quotes as well as insect and animal sounds thrive throughout its four verses. It's a challenge but well worth the work--and talk about a crowd please! "Love For Sale" is a challenging setting for Cole Porter's cynical look at love. From a soulful alto solo, we move to an up-tempo Latin groove suggestive of life on the street. Featured again in the bridge is the alto whose message is colored by humorous comments and quotes. Rich harmonies abound and build to a dynamic ending. A vamp is used throughout "What Is This Thing Called Love" as an introduction, interlude, ending and even as accompaniment for a be-bop chorus where high women's voices bemoan the pain of love gone wrong. Soprano, as solo or section, is featured on melody throughout this chart. Songlist: I Get A Kick Out of You, Let's Do It (Let's Fall in Love), Love For Sale, What Is This Thing Called Love? Kirby Stone Eddie Hall, Larry Foster and Mike Gardner had a hip brand of humor and a distinctive, upbeat, swinging style. They came to prominence in 1958 with an appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show, which led to a Columbia Records contract, and the release of "Man, I Flipped When I Heard the Kirby Stone Four." 1958 was also the year they had a Top 30 single with their extremely original cover of "Baubles, Bangles And Beads," from the 1953 Broadway musical Kismet. The attached album, on this CD, reached the US Top 20. There are 12 (accompanied) songs here, from what Kirby called a "happy show," all upbeat, somewhat irreverent, jazzy and fun: the title tune, "Bidin' My Time," "Lullaby of Broadway," "Fugue For Tinhorns," "In The Good Old Summertime," "Rain," "Zing! Went The Strings of My Heart," "Let's Do It," "When My Sugar Walks Down The Street," "Swinging Down The Lane," "Lady Love Me" and "Whispering." We don't think it's physically possible to listen to "Baubles" and feel down at the same time! Songlist: Baubles, Bangles and Beads, Bidin' My Time, Lullaby Of Broadway, Fugue For Tinhorns, In The Good Old Summertime, Rain, Zing! Went The Strings Of My Heart, Let's Do It (Let's Fall in Love), When My Sugar Walks Down The Street, Swingin' Down The Lane, Lady Love Me, Whispering Ladysmith Black Mambazo : Ilembe - Honoring Shaka Zulu In the late 1700s, the Zulus were an obscure tribe of less than 2000 South African natives, ruled by a petty chief and seemingly doomed to eventual extinction. But when one charismatic and cunning young warrior, Shaka Zulu, emerged from this small, disorganized clan, the path of South African history changed forever. Ladysmith Black Mambazo has conquered nations in its own way with a joyous and spiritually charged brand of vocal music and native choreography, pays tribute to this historical icon with their latest release. The album title translates to "The Greatest Warrior," and either directly or indirectly, each of the tracks speaks to Shaka's rare combination of attributes and how they resonate in contemporary society - not just for South Africans, but for the world in general. Songlist: O mmu beno mmu, Kuyafundw' osizini (Ilembe), Vela nsizwa, Let's Do It (Let's Fall in Love), Umon' usuk' esweni, Sizobalanda, This Is the Way We Do, Iphel' emasini, Asekhon' amatshitshi, Hlala nami, Prince of Peace, Iphel' emasini (Nature Effects) |

Cole Porteris most famous "list song" is offered here in an arrangement that pulls out all the stops. The sweet opening verse leads into the traditional swing, then finishes off with a rollicking kick-line "bring-em-home" tag. Just do it!
