The versatile composer is renowned in the world of folk music for his association with the Weavers, that legendary group of the fifties and sixties who received an honorary Grammy in 2006. Sheena Phillips created a splendid choral arrangement of this moving piece; it is also available for SSAA.

The recording, done in a reverberant hall, provides the best description of this outstanding piece. The text is one of the oldest prayers of St. Francis of Assisi. The composer states: "My intention was to create a setting both spacious and intimate." She has succeeded beautifully.

"May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back." Daniel Hughes has created a unique setting of this favorite traditional text. Written skillfully for unaccompanied voices, this piece provides an elegant closing for any concert.

Broadway composer Schwartz sets the dramatic poem of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow; the result: a stunning choral composition. The turning of the potter's wheel is ever-present in the choir as beautiful melodies soar above.
Composer: Stephen Schwartz
Dramatically combing two Sara Teasdale poems, the composer paints an enlightened statement of the spirit of spring, not with bird calls, but rather as a tone poem for singers.
Composer: Joshua Shank
"Stand By Me, Lord" has been arranged and recorded in different forms by many gospel singers, including Elvis Presley. This arrangement was inspired by the Mavis Staples version where she sings unaccompanied on two tracks, to create an aleatoric duet with herself. The opening phrases are sung by the solo voice. As the chorus joins in, the arrangement builds to a strong climax, which is followed by a beautiful and hopeful conclusion, sung once again by the solo voice.
Composer: Ruth Butterfield-Winter
As the music builds to its peak, it travels through lush harmonies, with much textual overlay adding to the intensity of the journey. After a final dramatic choral splash, the music peacefully ends with the simple unity of a soul-felt song. Beautiful.
