Rosalind Hall is the current director of the BYU Men's Chorus and BYU Concert Choir.

Hall is a native of Wales. She was educated at the University of London, the University of Edinburgh and London's Royal Academy of Music. She received a bachelors of music degree from the Royal Academy in 1977.

Hall came to the US in 1989 to study at Brigham Young University (BYU). While she was a grad student she also directed the BYU Women's Chorus. Hall received her Masters of music degree in 1993 from BYU. From 1992-1999 she was chair of the music department at Waterford School. She has been the director of the BYU Men's Chorus and Concert Choir since Mack Wilberg became an assistant director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in the fall of 1999. In addition to conducting these two choirs at BYU, Hall teaches undergraduate courses in choral conducting and graduate courses in choral literature at the BYU College of Fine Arts and Communications.

Review: Rosalind Hall, director of both the oft-showcased mixed-voice BYU Concert Choir and the popular Men's Chorus, leads the Choir in their 2nd recording, their debut the excellent "All Creatures of Our God and King." 18 songs, some favorites are the title tune, Moses Hogan's dynamic arrangement of "I Gotta Home Ina Dat Rock," 5 a cappella Shaker Songs, "Come to Zion," "Love is Little," "Dismission of Great I," "We Must Be Meek," and "Lay Me Low;" "Five Hebrew Love Songs," the Robert Shaw-arranged "I Will Arise" and the haunting "Irish Blessing." Some light accompaniment. "Beautiful River" proves to us that the BYUCC is ready to take its place as one of the best mixed choirs in the world!

BYU Men's Chorus : Praise Him

Review: The BYU Men's Chorus' first two excellent releases, "Awake My Soul" and "Shout with Glory" whetted our appetite, and that of many fans, for their 3rd. For the long-awaited "Praise Him," conductor Rosalind Hall has assembled an exciting, heartfelt mix of religious texts with a nice set of folk and traditional songs to finish the program. 19 songs with some organ, horns, strings and percussion accompaniment. Favorites are the magnificent "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God," "Fight The Good Fight With All Thy Might," the tender "More Holiness Give Me," "Awake My Sons, Awake," the Title Tune, Arthur Sullivan's "The Long Day Closes," "Praise My Soul," the beautiful hymn "Guide Us, O Thou Great Jehovah," and folksongs "Kumbayah," "Shenandoah," "Joshua Fit the Battle of Jerico," "Danny Boy" and "Down in the Valley."
