For over 30 years, Lloyd Larson has been an active composer and arranger for several major publishing companies of church and school music. His music compositions and arrangements number well over 1,300 published works-including choral anthems, numerous extended Christmas and Easter works, keyboard collections, vocal solo and duet collections, instrumental solo and ensemble publications, orchestrations and handbell settings. It is his work in the local church, though, which continues to be the catalyst for much of his writing. He is an active participant in his own church where he currently directs the adult choir in addition to regularly being involved in worship planning and leadership. He has been involved in church music ministry for over 35 years, serving churches in Indiana, Ohio and Minnesota. Originally from central Illinois, Lloyd received a B.A. in music from Anderson University (IN) and a Master's degree in church music and composition from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (KY). He has done subsequent graduate work at Southern Baptist Seminary, Ohio State University and Northern Baptist Theological Seminary (IL). |

Lloyd Larson : A New and Glorious Morn! A New and Glorious Morn! reminds us of the reality that, in Christ, the old is gone and the new has come. Through the birth of this tiny baby, the promise of eternal life is now given to anyone who will receive God's message of salvation through faith. Songlist: Come, Adore the Newborn King!, Prepare for the Coming of the Lord, The Promised King of Heaven, Holy Child of Bethlehem, All Glory Be to God on High!, Rise Up, Shepherd, Go Tell It! Lloyd Larson : Song of Emmanuel From anticipation of the coming Christ Child to the nativity and beyond, Song of Emmanuel weaves new songs and favorite carols with the spoken word to create an inspired Christmas cantata. Mary, the shepherds, angels and others all had a song to sing on the holy night, and their message is poignantly captured in this beautiful worship cantata. Songlist: Angels From The Realms Of Glory, Angels We Have Heard On High, Away In A Manger, Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus, Emmanuel, Forest Green, Gentle Mary Laid Her Child, Good Christian Men, Rejoice, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, Joy To The World, Mary's Song, O Little Town Of Bethlehem, Song Of Advent, Song Of The Shepherds, The Prophet's Song Other Voicings: Lloyd Larson : The Gift Christmas is a season of celebration, gratitude, and giving...and this cantata from Lloyd Larson focuses on the ultimate Christmas gift...Jesus. Brimming with beloved carols and exciting new songs, The Gift traces the ageless Christmas story through the lens of gratitude and our response to the Greatest Gift. There are also (optional) moments to involve children in singing and offering gifts to the nativity, shaping this into a multi-generational experience for all. Approximately 35 minutes. Lloyd Larson & Mark Hayes : Seekers of the Light The world was lost in darkness. Roman oppression weighed heavily and God's people were awaiting a Messiah. There were astrologers...literally following the light of the heavens and prophecies of the coming Messiah. But there were other "seekers of the Light": Mary and Joseph, simple shepherds in a field, and the prophets. Then, it happened. The Light of the World was born. Follow the respective journeys of these "seekers of the light" to learn what we can from their sojourns. May we likewise seek and find The Light for our journey...and transform our lives with a fresh touch of God's miraculous grace and gift of Love. (30 minutes). Lloyd Larson and Mark Hayes : The Passion and the Promise The many moods of Holy Week followed by the triumph of Easter are captured in this moving work from Lloyd Larson and Mark Hayes, with compelling narration by Pamela Stewart. From the celebration of Palm Sunday to the despair of Good Friday followed by the resurrection, The Passion and the Promise presents fresh and dynamic words and music with creative narration. Perform each anthem separately during Holy Week and Easter or together as an unforgettable 25-minute cantata. |
