Music Capitol of the South Nashville, TN played host to the Barbershop Harmony Society's annual International Chorus competition in 2008, and The Masters of Harmony from Santa Fe Springs, CA, took home the Gold, winning their 7th championship! Here they sing "Wonderful One" and "Yona from Arizona." Ambassadors of Harmony took the Silver, singing "Love Walked In," "Voices of Harmony took 3rd Place Bronze with "In a Shanty in Old Shanty Town," Sound of the Rockies got 4th Place Bronze with "You're from Heaven and You're Mine," and New Tradition won 5th Place Bronze withtheir "This is the Army Mr. Jones"/"Oh How I Hate to Get Up in the Morning" medley. Sixth through twentieth place, The Alliance through Brothers in Harmony, are each represented by one song. These are all live cuts from the stage of the Nashville finals, and you can feel the excitement in the air! "2008 20 Top Choruses" brings us a powerful sampling of Barbershop's best!

Sweet Adelines 2012 International Quartet Champions, also known as "Queens of Harmony" Martini is actually an international voices across the border phenomenon, with Bass Shannon Harris and tenor Corinna Garriock hailing from Canada, and lead Michelle Shoemaker and baritone DeAnne Haugen from the United States. The group first got together in 2007 with a different tenor and lead, and placed 8th in the world 2008 in Honolulu. Michelle joined the group in early 2010, and Martini placed 5th in Seattle after just a few months of rehearsal. Then in January 2011, Corinna joined the group, and 6 rehearsals later, created magic in Houston, being crowned Queens! "Shaken, Stirred & Crowned" is a 13-song "best-of" collection that celebrates Martini's remarkable rise. Favorites are a pair of live standards, "How Are Things In Glocca Morra" and "My Baby Just Cares For Me" (with some very funny asides); a nice arrangement of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah," the Mancini brothers' "Sometimes," M. James' pop hit "Hooked On A Feeling," C. McVie's "Songbird," Lerner & Lowe's "If Ever I Would Leave You," George Gershwin's "Somebody Loves Me," a nice cover of J. Lynne's "Mr. Blue Sky," R. Gaylord's "I Will Never Pass This Way Again" and the lovely traditional tune "The Parting Glass." My Three Sons : New Gang On The Corner   

This unique quartet has been making history for many years now. As members of the well-known Ditchfield Family Singers this father - Stephen Ditchfield - and his sons also perform as a barbershop quartet. Even when the boys were very young they started winning singing competitions and this recording marks their comeback as grown men who still retain their love of close harmony singing. Lots a great music here including some barbershop classics along with a variety of popular music from the '30's, '40's, and '50's.

2002 Harmony Sweeps winners Perfect Gentlemen's 3rd CD has 20 songs; some classic barbershop like "Blue Skies," "The Good Old Days" and "Diane," and some non-traditional stuff like "Gimme Some Skin," "Ukelele Lady," "If Ever I Would Leave You," "Java Jive," "Beware My Foolish Heart" and "Room Service," Some light guitar, piano and ukelele (but the emphasis remains on the rich harmonies) on songs like "Java Jive," "Gimme Some Skin" and "Room Service," which we heard when they hosted the Sweeps Finals, where their sound reminded us of groups like the Hi-Lo's and 4 Freshmen. The Gents can make a barbershop chord ring with the best of them, but we like their tendency to try different, even accompanied stuff, like jive, swing and 50s jazz/pop. These guys are funny, versatile, flat-out great entertainers!

The three women and two men of this Dutch classical ensemble open this recording with 6 sixteenth-century works by the Dutch composer Sweelinck (though written in French, the courtly language of the time). Two "chanson" by Debussy follow, and then selections by Poulenc and Britten, both twentieth-century composers; as is characteristic of modern music, the harmonic progressions can be something of a non-sequitur, depending on your point of view! For dessert, five close harmony arrangements, including "Besame Mucho," "My Romance" (as arranged by Puerling) and of course, "Ain't Misbehavin'". A rich and satisfying tapestry of sound.

It was cocktail time in Houston when Martini were crowned the new Queens of Harmony. Corrina Garriock, Michelle Shoemaker, DeAnne Haugen and Shannon Harris took top honors with Touce coming second and AKA third.
