In 2010 we celebrated the 100th anniversary of the birth of Samuel Barber with a new complete edition of his classic Reincarnations, with historical introduction, and newly edited music engravings based on the composer's manuscript. The title refers to the Irish poet James Stephens' technique of writing new poems in English based on Gaelic sources. Includes: "Mary Hynes," "Anthony O'Daly," and "The Coolin."

Includes all of the content of the previous edition plus 23 additional choral pieces. Two original pieces never before published, a set of rounds and a Latin motet. Also, the first printing of Barber's transcription of Josquin de Prez's famous "Ave Maria" as well as the revised edition of Reincarnations, and more.

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Samuel Barber, we are proud to release this major new edition, which includes newly edited and engraved editions of the complete contents of Collected Songs and Ten Early Songs (1994), plus many previously unpublished early songs. Manuscripts from the Library of Congress and other sources were consulted for all songs. The edition includes extensive historical information about each song, a lengthy and insightful article about Barber, and facsimiles of selected manuscripts.

Previously unpublished songs for voice and piano, dating from 1925 to 1937. Of interest to practically everyone, these fresh, youthful compositions reveal a master in the making. Original keys, primarily for medium voice.
