David Conte : Choral Variations On Simple Gifts

This arrangement is an almost literal, note-for note adaptation of Aaron Copland's variations on the Shaker tune Simple Gifts as it appears in his orchestral suite Appalachian Spring (rehearsal numbers 55-67). The Variations have been arranged for SATB chorus and piano in a wonderfully singable and exciting setting. A perfect way to introduce your choir to Copland while your audiences enjoy this wonderful music.

David Conte : Pat-a-pan

This carol concerns the birth of Jesus Christ, and is told from the perspective of shepherds playing simple instruments- flutes and drums- the onomatopoetic sound of which gives the song its name. "Pat-a-pan" is meant to mimic the sound of the drum, and an accompanying lyric, "tu-re-lu-re-lu," the flute.
