Born in Ferrara (Italy), Simone Ferraresi performed as a classical concert pianist at many important venues in Europe and the U.S., including a debut recital at Carnegie's Weill Hall in 2007. Winner of several piano competitions, in 1995 he was a semi-finalist in the Frederic Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw, Poland, one of the most prestigious competitions in classical music. Simone earned his degrees in piano and composition with highest honors at the Frescobaldi Conservatory in Ferrara; at the Hochschule f r Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna, where he specialized in the interpretation of classical composers with Paul Badura-Skoda; at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he was awarded the Advanced Diploma with Distinction, as well as three special prizes for the best performance in the final recital. Simone studied choral conducting with Harold Rosenbaum in the U.S., and with Dario Tabbia in Italy. He is the Artistic Director of Cantantes in Cordibus and the Ferrara Piano Festival, a nonprofit founded to help young musicians build an international performing career.
