Dave Briner wrote barbershop arrangements for over 40 years, many of which have been published by the Barbershop Harmony Society. He has written extensively for both men's and women's voices, some 8-part charts for both together, and a few for female soloist with male or female chorus backup. His charts for men have been sung by The Sidewinders, Far Westerners, 139th Street Quartet, Nightlife, Metropolis, Saturday Evening Post, Storm Front, Revival, and Platinum quartets, and by the Masters Of Harmony, Phoenicians, Spirit Of Phoenix, Southern Gateway, and Great America choruses. |

This classic 1950 Christmas song was originally a hit for Kay Starr and is given a wonderful treatment by David Briner who concentrates on writing arrangements that are easily singable by average barbershoppers, eschewing unnecessary complexity.

In 1957, a recording of "All the Way", was made famous by Frank Sinatra. It was introduced in the film The Joker Is Wild. Sinatra also had the best-selling recorded version of the song.
Composer: Sammy Cahn | Lyricist: Jimmy Van Heusen Performed By: Frank Sinatra
Written for an obscure, short-lived musical that never made it to Broadway, this song caught the ear of Nat King Cole who promptly recorded it in 1956 and it became a lesser-known standard in the great American songbook. It has since been recorded by artists such as Johnny Mathis, Dinah Washington, Diane Schuur, and Diana Krall. Accessible and hard-swinging, this is a perfect addition to any male or female quartet or chorus repertoire!
Composer: Jimmy McHugh
"If There's Anybody Here From Out of Town" bounces across the USA, cataloging locales and scenes in toe-tapping fashion. Dave Briner's arrangement for men's quartet plus women's quartet was made famous in an excellent performance by Panache (1990 SAI International Champion Quartet) and Acoustix (1990 BHS International Champion Quartet,) and works well for choruses also.
One of our favorite things is to listen to some great close harmony and this arrangement of the wonderful song from The Sound Of Music is a delight from beginning to end. You will enjoy singing this one.
Composer: Richard Rodgers | Musical: The Sound Of Music
"Sh-Boom" (sometimes referred to as "Life Could Be a Dream") is an early doo-wop song by the R&B vocal group The Chords. Fun arrangement by the great David Briner.
From Where's Charley by Broadway legend Frank Loesser comes the tongue-in-cheek salute to marching bands! You can hear the rat-a-tat of the drums, you'll chuckle at the song's humor and you will bring down the house with the big ending! Available separately: TTBB a cappella, VoiceTrax CD. Duration: ca. 2:30.
Musical: Where's Charlie?
This song is one from the Great American Songbook and was a hit for Frank Sinatra in 1957. Cy Coleman sure could write a great tune and top arranger does the song justice. Fun!
