Guillermo Rozenthuler

Guillermo Rozenthuler

Born: 1970.

Living in: London, England.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Guillermo is a versatile vocalist and a skilled voice teacher and group facilitator.

He enjoys inspiring individuals and groups of people to listen, breath freely, sing the sound of their essential nature and be fully present, honest and open. He believes singing is everyone's birthright beyond musicianship or vocal skills, as it was for millennia in human evolution.

Besides his performing career as a soloist and his participation in bands such as Tango Siempre (www.tangomusic.co.uk) and Rioplatenses singing Argentine tango and folklore, Guillermo devotes his energy to teaching. His work as a vocal coach and workshop leader involves weekly harmony singing workshops and one-to one lessons from his London studio, and regular seminars and master classes throughout Europe, mainly as a faculty member of the Global Music Foundation (www.globalmusicfoundation.org). He's currently leading various community singing workshops organized by Live Music Now. The Singing Well for Harrow Community Centre and Choir With No Name.

The one-to one lessons and collective singing workshops he facilitates combine harmony songs from all over the world with gentle movement, stretches and sensory awareness (informed by Yoga, Feldenkrais method and other disciplines). He also encourages 'sounding' (producing vocal sounds that are not necessarily 'singing') and sometimes incorporates singing exercises and vocal explorations (drawing from functional pedagogy of the voice, speech-level voicework, anthropological singing, classical vocal technique). Rhythm, silence and improvisation are also present in most of the sessions, apart from the indispensable sense of humour!
