Amparo Bellon-Champ is the Academy's bilingual, dual-cultural vocal coach. Amparo has been teaching all styles of music for the past 6 years and has been a student of Dr. Martin's for the past 10 years. She is a former Dicesa recording artist and has two independently released voice lesson CDs. Amparo has performed in bands and as a solo artist, in music festivals, radio, and television.
Amparo Bellon-ChampAmparo is an expert in her vocal teaching field. Her emphasis is on teaching multiple genres especially Latin Music singing techniques. Her recent instructional voice lesson CD, "Gotta Sing - Aprenda a Cantar Multiples Generos" teaches vocalists not only about the differences between multiple Latin styles of singing, but also thoroughly demonstrates how to accomplish each technique. Her teaching CD is available not only in Spanish, but in English, "Gotta Sing - Learn to Sing Multiple Genres."
Amparo is well-versed in musical theatre, alternative, country, jazz, pop, R&B, rock, bolero, cumbia, meringue, Latin pop, ranchera, salsa, tejano, and tropical music. She teaches her students how to sing multiple genres with an authentic, commercial voice. Her approach to teaching includes helping her students feel and move to the music for better vocal interpretation.
Like most Academy teachers, Amparo is available for Master Voice Lessons. Her master classes are available in English, Spanish, or bilingual. Amparo teaches live lessons in person and via the internet.

Review: Gotta Sing: Aprenda un Cantar Multiples Generos es una gran herramienta de ensenanza para el cantante profesional y el principiante. El CD se enfoca en la singularidad de cada estilo presentado. Los estilos son creado combinado elementos e ingredientes vocales en proporciones diferentes de colocaciones y resonancias. Cada leccion es seguida por una demostracion de tres canciones de tres generos diferentes. Los generos presentados en el CD son Balada, Bolero, Cumbia, Merengue, Latin Pop, Ranchera, Tejano, Tropical, and Salsa. Cada cancivocal-coach/Amparo-Bellon-Champ/n seleccionada fue un exito en su genero. Las canciones de Selena, Ednita Nazario, Olga Tanon, Gloria Estefan, Laura Pausini, Julieta Venegas, Rocio Durcal, La Lupe, Lucero, Rosana, y Celia Cruz fueron seleccionadas para demostrar las lecciones. Todas las canciones son interpretadas por Amparo con la meta de demostrar que una voz es capaz de producir una gama enorme de matices. Una hoja de ejercicios es disponible para descarga. Review: Gotta Sing: Learn to Sing Multiple Genres is a great tool for the professional and novice singer alike. The CD focuses on what makes a singing style unique by combining vocal elements and ingredients in different ratios of placements and resonances. Each lesson is followed by a demonstration of three songs in different genres. The genres discussed are Alternative, Country, Jazz, Pop, R&B, and Rock. The song selections were chosen from hits within each specific genre. The works of Jefferson Airplane, Mariah Carey, Brenda Russell, Sarah McLachlan, Mary Blige, Michelle Branch, Etta James, Diana Krall, Sara Evans, Vanessa Carlton, Aretha Franklin, and Wynonna are highlighted and broken down into vocal components. All songs are performed by Amparo with the purpose of demonstrating to the listener that learning and adding new genres to their repertoire is possible. A worksheet is available for download to help the listener identify and score the stylistic changes within each sample song.
