The Beatitudes were translated into French for this elegant composition that features a chant-like melody and a dramatic harmonic structure. Voiced for either men's or women's chorus, a rich texture is found throughout the entire piece. Beautiful!
Composer: David N Childs
A dramatic piece with interesting staging possibilities, it starts with an antiphonal second choir echoing choir one. Next, a four-part homophonic middle section adds contrast. The piece concludes with a dramatic recapitulation of the opening. This selection would be a special opener for a concert.

Set to a text by two Indian chiefs, this is a most unusual piece for the men's choir. An enchanting melody, an inspirational text, and flute and piano that together add great artistic and ethnic interest to the piece. Worth a listen! Flute part available as a free download.
