It's hard to believe! Huh? What? It's hard to believe that the snare and drum on 'Do Not Be Afraid' are vocal. But it's sampling! Sampling shmampling. To be unable to dispel the illusion of instruments, even under headphones, is something special! We're talkin' audio trompe l'oeil here folks. By the way, who is singing bass? That's one of the deepest purist bass lines we've ever heard. Beyond a doubt the more things change with Acappella, the more they stay the same - terrific! There are songs which have arrangements so simple that the fine harmony of four voices, without any studio trickery, carry the message and you don't get distracted by the music. There is an addition of jazz chording that expands the possibilities of the group in exciting directions. Acappella just keeps getting better! |
