Female Barbershop Chorus

Based in Stillwater, MN

In 1982, a gathering of women met to organize a small community chorus in Stillwater, Minnesota. One year later, the Vallee de Croix Chorus was established as members of Sweet Adelines International (SAI), a worldwide organization of women singers committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education, competition and performance.

The Vallee de Croix has traveled together sharing our love of music and friendship both near and far. We've performed in many locations including Phoenix, Detroit, Columbus, Winnipeg and Innsbruck, Austria. Closer to home, we perform for local festivals and fairs, at the Como Park Pavilion and the Old Historic Courthouse in Stillwater. We sing at area churches while church choirs are on summer break and at area senior living centers and nursing homes. During the holiday season, we perform at an annual holiday show and go caroling at local businesses.

While Stillwater is our home base, our members come from many areas of the St Croix Valley and Twin Cities area including Scandia, Somerset, Baldwin, Saint Paul, White Bear, Woodbury and beyond. With members ranging in age from 21 to 84, the chorus offers a real intergenerational experience. Musical experience among members varies, and as a SAI chapter, the chorus focuses on music education and personal development
