Community Chorus

Based in South Windsor, CT

The South Windsor Community Chorus originally began in 1971 as "Friends of Music". Bobbi Reeves (Director) and Karen Krinjak (Accompanist) volunteered their services to help raise money for uniforms for the South Windsor (CT) High School Band.

From then, we have grown into a well-organized community-based organization that has a Board of Directors that include a President, Vice President, Business Manager, Secretary, Treasurer, Librarian, Fundraising Chairperson, Membership Chairperson, as well as a Music Director and Pianist.

For our performances, we have many volunteers from the membership that help coordinate the many details necessary to produce a well-run concert. Each major performance has a reception following the program. The reception is an opportunity for us to meet our audience, friends and supporters.

Under Music Director Theresa McGee's leadership, two smaller groups were developed. Both the Women's Chorus and the Chamber Ensemble are drawn by audition from the larger chorus, enabling them to perform more challenging music from the Classical and Jazz/Pop repertoire.
