Symphonic Chorus The South Dakota Symphony Chorus is the official vocal ensemble of the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra. As an all-volunteer chorus, they are committed to the rehearsal and performance of the greatest master works of the choral and opera genres. Their season traditionally consists of annual presentations of the popular Holiday Collage Christmas concerts and Handel's Messiah. Spring typically finds the chorus preparing an opera along with a major work for orchestra and chorus. This past season those performances were Giacomo Puccini's beloved opera, La boheme, followed by the powerful Mass in C, of Ludwig van Beethoven; while in 2015 they performed Richard Wagner's, Der fliegende Hollander and Elijah by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy.
