Male Barbershop Chorus

Based in Richmond, VA

We are Soundworks, Central Virginia's premiere, men's a cappella ensemble. Under the musical direction of Nick Brata, Soundworks has a dynamic repertoire that encompasses several musical styles that include barbershop, choral works, contemporary a cappella, doo-wop, folk, gospel, holiday music, & jazz, just to name a few. Soundworks represents the James River, VA chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society and is dedicated to musical and vocal excellence.

Formed in 2005, Soundworks includes men of all ages and from all walks of life. Our membership includes men from as far west as Charlottesville, VA all the way through Richmond and down the I-64 corridor into the Tidewater region. Auditions for membership are held year round in all voice parts and are open to all interested men of high school age or older.

Audition Policy - Would you like to sing with Soundworks? Our audition process is pretty straightforward and we are open to new members year round. Unlike some other groups you don't have to wait for the next membership drive or open auditions.
