Female Community Ensemble

Based in Portland, OR

Founded in 2019, the Radix Women's Vocal Ensemble sings a monthly medieval evensong service at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Portland, OR, and presents regular concert performances in the Portland Metro Area.

We take inspiration from our name, Radix: meaning "root" in Latin. The medieval plainchant and polyphony forming the core of our repertoire connects us and our audience to the ancient origins of the Western Classical choral tradition. As artists, we seek to understand the core meaning of the music we perform, and we aim to sing with clarity, authenticity, gratitude, and above all, joy.

Audition Policy - Audition includes vocalizing and sightreading with the director, plus an a cappella solo selection of any style.
