Mixed Community Chorus Shape-note music is a living folk-singing tradition with over two hundred years' history in the United States and with roots that go back centuries before that. The sound is different than that of any other music, and the tunes are written in special notes invented to help untrained singers learn to read music. Our group meets to sing every second Sunday of the month at Saint Vincent's Church at 51st and Lake Streets in Omaha at 1:30, with a yearly all-day singing on the Saturday before the second Sunday of April. Everybody is welcome to sing with us! Founded - 1998. A Cappella. Non-Auditioned. Rehearsal Information - Usually noon on the third Saturday of the month (but call to check).
