Male Community Chorus Founded in 1934, the Appleton MacDowell Male Chorus is one of the longest continuously running male choruses in the United States. The inspiration behind our name was the noted American composer, Edward MacDowell (1860-1908). We have performed more than 500 times in more than 75 cities throughout the Midwest and Canada. The men have over 936 works covering a wide range of musical styles in their repertoire, of which 25-30 are selected to perform each spring from memory. Every year October through March we give the church choirs a break and donate our talents to a variety of congregations throughout the Fox Valley. Throughout our history, 862 men have been members. We average between 80-100 members; membership is open to all post-high school males who enjoy singing. Founded - 1934. Contact The MacDowell Male Chorus Update This Listing |
