Mixed Community Chorus Lehigh University Choral Union is one of Lehigh University's most successful outreach programs, bringing townspeople, faculty, staff and students together to perform on campus three times each year. The Choral Union combines with the university's other ensembles to perform masterworks of the choral-orchestral repertoire such as Beethoven's 9th Symphony and Orff's Carmina Burana, as well as opera choruses, a cappella repertoire, and works specially composed for them. Performances include world-renowned soloists and guest musicians. Lehigh University Choral Union is directed by internationally acclaimed conductor and composer Steven Sametz. No audition is required for the Choral Union, but singing experience is recommended. Choral Union has performed at New York's Carnegie Hall and has toured internationally. Past tours have included China, Portugal, Hawaii, Italy, Spain, Austria and Hungary. Founded - 1985. Non-Auditioned. Directed by Steven Sametz.
