Female Barbershop Chorus

The Heart of Long Island Chorus is a small chorus with a big heart. We are located in Bohemia, NY and have been a chapter of Sweet Adeline's International for over 55 years. Our mission is to spread joy and love through beautiful music, empowering education, and supportive community.

Every week a diverse group of women, each with their own individual story and unique musical background, stand side by side - united in harmony. Our common bond is our passion for singing and love for each other. With each rehearsal comes the opportunity to learn new music and techniques. With each performance we share joy and harmony with our audiences, finding new friends along the way.

Our members are the heart of our chorus. We are very lucky to have an incredible group of women who all came together from across the country to sing together. We are seasoned performers and love to sing, dance, act, and perform on stage. Over half of our members have been with us for over 5 years. We are kind, caring, artistic, passionate, dedicated, and sarcastic. We are teachers, counselors, artists, scientists, nurses, writers, and inventors. We are Air Force veterans and breast cancer survivors. We are mothers, grandmothers, wives, and daughters, and we love to spend time with our families and our sisters in song. We spend our free time being outside in nature, reading, cooking, shopping, playing games, working out at the gym, and travelling. We volunteer at nursing homes, Alzheimer's clinics, animal shelters, and PT clinics.

Audition Policy - Come to a rehearsal to see what we're about. Potential members will be given learning tracks/sheet music to learn one song. Audition will take place within 2-3 weeks, and will be sung within a quartet setting (no solos).

Rehearsal Information - Mondays, 7-10 PM - in the Lower Level
