Mixed Community Chorus

Based in Albuquerque, NM

We are an Ubuntu choir, based in ABQ for 12 years. Ubuntu is a bantu word for 'we are one.' All voices are welcome. Songs are taught by ear in 3-4 part harmony. We rarely use sheet music, to be more inclusive. We sing world music, spirituals, contemporary, rounds. Our choir attracts singers of different experience and abilities. We sing for those needing support like nursing homes, food banks, senior centers. Our emphasis is on creating singing community rather than performance, and we perform community service.

Founded - 2013.   Non-Auditioned.

Audition Policy - No auditions, no requirements for new singers. All voices are welcome.Singers can try us out for free, first session of the season,pay tuition if they join.
